Don’t be fooled by its small interiors and low key facade. The food is definitely a must-try. I got their soondubu jjigae as I’m in the mood for some comfort food.. and this dish did not disappoint… the soft and tender tofu, with a generous amount of meat, touched by a hint of egg, and mixed well with just the right spice of the soup broth… so I heard that the level of spice depends on the chef’s discretion on which spice to use - kudos to this store’s chef for creating this balanced dish. all these gastronomic spectacle distracted my attention from the basic side dishes - nothing special with the taste of their fish cake slices nor with the kimchi, and the almost forgettable cabbage salad. Another impressive feat included in their menu is the Shine Muscat Tanghulu which in my opinion is an experience ready to transport you to the arabian oasis. The spike of alcohol is suitably coated with the sweet and tangy taste of the green grapes and if you’re daring to take it to the next level then bite on the green grape tanghulu (careful to bite slowly as it is quite hard for a sudden bite).. i have yet to appreciate the Busan Highball which seems lack-luster considering that it bears the region’s name so I was expecting that it would be sort of a flag-bearer as well in the cocktails’ aspects. But over-all, i feel at home inspite of the initial underwhelming perception of the place. Highly...
Read moreThis quaint little Korean restaurant is located at the corner of F. Dela Rosa and E. Abada streets in Loyola Heights. Parking is limited - there are only 2 slots directly infront of the restaurant.
The restaurant itself serves simple Korean dishes. The curated menu is not that plentiful, but you'll get a few choices of Korean fried chicken, some classic dishes like Kimchi Fried Rice and Sundubu Jiggae.
Staff is very helpful and friendly and the ambiance is an A+. They serve 3 Ban Chan with your meal - with the iconic Kimchi as a staple. They also serve mocktails that play on Tanghulu caramelized fruits.
Overall it's a good place with prices that are relatively affordable for the area. The serving sizes aren't that huge but you can get a few dishes and share them amongst a small group without breaking the bank.
This is definitely something worth trying out when you're...
Read moreMe and my partner has been meaning to go here. The timing was right when we were planning to go to pop up for the free concert on a Saturday evening. To our surprise, the restaurant was empty, but maybe due to the fact that it was earlier than 5 pm.
Unfortunately, due to the time we were unable to try the lunch meal deals. Instead, we got the samgyeup and jiggae. We also got the b1g1 tanghulu drinks promo for fresh graduates which was a plus! The food was great, and the drinks were a bit strong on the stomach but also sweet. I especially liked the tanghulu that came with it.
The staff were nice and accommodating throughout our stay. Overall, a nice experience. Id like to go back to try the chicken and...
