I don't get the hype. Let me explain, my wife and I love exploring Japanese restaurants. For us, it's too pricey for the items and experience we got. The menu was too bulky, heavy and for me they had too many options which raised some concerns. I was afraid that with the amount of items they had they might not be able to deliver. I was somehow right. Let's talk food. We ordered Tonkotsu Ramen and grilled Tonkotsu Ramen with BBQ. Was there a difference? Nada, the only difference was 3 addition slices of chashu. I was wondered where the bbq has gone, I would compare it with Ramenagi as they are at the same price bracket. Ramenagi is 50 steps ahead. To expound the tonkotsu broth didn't taste like tonkotsu. It had a creamy feel to it, like it had cream or milk. Not the fatty broth it should be. California Maki, bland. Tokyo tokyo offers a better tasting option at a cheaper price, Makimura also offers bang for the buck Maki options, heck might even say their ramen is better tasting. All star Karaage, which supposed to have different flavors per chicken but you won't identify the differences of the flavors then the karaage sauce is to be ordered as an add on.
The only highlight was the tempura. I have to say they gave us the best tempura we have ever tried in any Japanese Restaurant we've tried. Perfectly cooked and just the right amount of batter, the seasoning juuuust riiight.
Price, for 2 Ramens, maki, karaage and tempura we paid around Php. 2,000.00. Worth every penny? No, nope.
We had many better tasting restaurants that offers better prices. To be honest at around 2k, nabusog ka pa sa iba. Here, no.
Restaurant ambiance. We sat windowside. May mga patay na langaw sa tabi namin, legit. The accoustics were pretty bad and there was an annoying beeping sound, I think it was their AC.
Staff, accommodating, always happy to answer some questions. The supervisor, I think she was, would move along with her waitresses which is a huge plus. Always...
Read more"TASTELESS FOOD AND TERRIBLE SERVICE" The first and last time I visited this "restaurant" of Japanese cuisine. I passed by several times and there were always a lot of people, so one day I decided to go in and have a look and try the cuisine, it was a big mistake. Never in 3 years of living in the Philippines have I encountered such terrible service as here, all the girls waiters were clearly irritated and clearly not happy to see me and my girlfriend and simply did not notice us, no one said hello or goodbye, we were just like ghosts. Perhaps, as my girlfriend said, "maybe we look like people who have no money", although this is definitely not true and it is not so important if you just came to eat deliciously. I can't say anything about the food either, because all 7 items ordered were tasteless and not delicious, especially the dumplings with cheese, in my opinion they were just terrible. Also I want to say one thing about sushi, because it is a "restaurant" of Japanese cuisine. Either they were prepared by a person who has been working in the kitchen for the first hour, or he’s/she’s 5 years old. Why are the sushi so terribly and crookedly rolled. So I really don't know why there are always so many people there or are they always new visitors. I can say and recommend not to visit this “restaurant” never and I also want to say thank you for putting a piece of plastic bag in my ice cream. More authentic place with real Japanese cuisine as much as possible. Its name is “Shachou Traditional Japanese Izakaya”. Unfortunately, this is free advertising, It is simply the place where I myself go and I can...
Read moreThe food was excellent, but the service was disappointingly slow. We were told the food would be ready in 25 minutes, but it took 40 minutes to arrive. Even after the meal, we had to wait to get our bill, and then again after paying because they needed us to sign the receipt for the card transaction. This might have been understandable if they were busy, but there were only four tables with about 10 customers. To make matters worse, we tried to order three items from the menu, and all of them were out of stock—even though it was lunchtime and the restaurant wasn’t busy. If you're on a tight schedule, I wouldn't recommend...
