We have dined here before, but on another ocassion, we have experienced having been declined service, but read on and don't make judgments yet. It was because we had a dog (chihuahua) with us, although she was inside her backpack carrier. We understood, and went out way. Before that, my family wanted to celebrate our father's birthday there, but it was lunch time, and the place was packed, and there were four to five groups/families waiting to be seated. So we went to look for another restaurant that can accommodate us.
Plus side: Great food! Large servings. Absolutely delectable, you'll leave the restaurant full and happy, that's for sure. Friendly staff Open until night time (9 or 10pm?) With receptionist/concierge to assist customers waiting in line Contact number available/posted on their Facebook page Their store is on the ground floor of a hotel, so it's perfect for travelers who also needs a place to stay for a little while. With customer parking in front of the store
Downside It's their second location in the city, and the former place was tiny. This current location is considerably more spacious, but with all the customers who wish to dine their during peak hours, the area is not enough that, like I mentioned above, some customers end up building a queue outside. And it's beside the highway, so it's really hot outside while waiting in line. No al fresco dining No pets allowed Limited...
Read moreSO ECSTATIC GOING HOME FROM ABROAD AND HAD MY FIRST WORST SERVICE IN THIS RESTAURANT. AFTER WE ATE I ORDERED A TO GO ORDER. WE WERE WAITING FOR OUR TO GO ORDER AND THE SERVER WANTED US TO LEAVE. WE DID NOT RECEIVE OUR ORDER WHEN SHE DID THAT. WE WAITED FOR OUR AN HOUR TO GET OUR TO GO ORDER WHILE SEEING LATER CUSTOMERS GET THEIR ORDER BEFORE US. THEY CAME LATER AFTER WE ORDERED OUR FOOD.
WE ASKED 3 SERVERS REGARDING AN UPDATE AND NO ONE CAME BACK. OH THE MANAGER CAME BACK AND TOLD US THAT OUR ORDER WAS PUNCHED IN AT 5:18PM AND IT'LL TAKE 32 TO 40 MINUTES UNTIL IT IS DONE. WE WAITED UNTIL 6:00 PM AND THE PIZZA IS STILL NOT READY. WE ASKED ANOTHER SERVER AND HE DID NOT CAME BACK NOT UNTIL WE ASKED HIM AGAIN AND TOLD US THAT THEIR ARE TOO MANY ORDERS WHICH DOES NOT MAKE SENSE BECAUSE WE ORDERED FIRST BEFORE THE LATER CUSTOMERS ORDERED.
WE ASKED ANOTHER SERVER AGAIN AND TOLD HIM THAT WE NEED AN HONEST ANSWER IF THEY MADE THE ORDER OR NOT. THAT WAS THE ONLY TIME THAT OUR ORDER WAS FINISHED AND IT WAS 6:12PM.
I DONT CARE WHATEVER OTHER PEOPLE THINK THAT THEY MAKE GOOD FOOD. THEY HAVE EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE ANYMORE AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND IT...
Read moreOne thing I really appreciate about Grumpy Joe La Union is how fast they serve the food. Service was quicker than we expected, which made the dining experience even better.
Here’s what we ordered: • 12” 5 Cheese + Grumpy Pizza = 11/10 The best combo! Flavorful, cheesy, and filling. Honestly, it can get overwhelming if it’s just for two people, so I’d recommend going for the 9” instead if you don’t want leftovers. • Pesto Seafood Pasta (Mild Spicy) = 10/10 Very unique! I loved how it had roasted cashews (I think?) which gave it an extra texture and nutty twist. • Grumpy Joe Refreshers = 11/10 Superb! For a second I thought I was drinking a mojito—refreshing and fun to sip on. • Lemon and Lime = 8/10 Good balance of sweet and tangy, though not as exciting as the other drinks.
Another plus point is how they handle takeouts. They wrap your leftovers right in front of you, which assures you that your food stays clean and untouched.
Our total bill came out to less than ₱1,500 for 2 people, which is already such a good deal considering the serving sizes and quality. Definitely worth a visit if...
