To those who remember CK from the late 60s and would like a bit of gastronomic nostalgia, well here’s proof that you can never relive your childhood. But the original CK in Nueva/Ongpin holds a special place in my heart as at 6 y.o. it was the first resto I went to all by myself, struggled a bit to get up on the high stool, and confidently ordered kiampung, maki and pineapple juice (parang all for under P10 ba back then?). The good news here is that the food isn’t that bad. The bad news is the food isn’t that good either. For Chinese fried chicken, just go on your merry way to the superior Sincerity. For all others like makimi, kiampung, siomai, chabihon, etc. there are gadzillion convenient online sellers (e.g. China Mommy) that are way better. Not to mention so many small artisan Chinese siok-ko-kiok eateries popping up vying for your business (e.g. nearby ACA Chan). My credo is no matter the price if the food is not delicious, it’s too expensive. CK+’s only saving grace is that you can buy from their shop beside the resto area their pretty good EBT Chinese pastries like ube hopia and pork floss hopia on the same visit.

Oyster cake - doesnt taste like oyster. Too many ginger, texture is very similar with tikoy. How come there is too many egg shells also? Chicken - tasted like it fried on used oil Xiolongbao - not typical one like in gloria maris or din tai fung. Its different and i dont like it. Asado - dry and tough to eat Kikiam - kikiam is OK Asado and bola bola siopao - taste good bun is soft and moist. Kiampong - dont the traditional one and again i dont like it coz its too dry for me. The placee is clean and service is good. I hate giving this place a 1 star but i have to be honest. 🥲

The food here is good but not spectacular. It's comfort food for most Chinese-Filipinos. We ordered the Lomi which was smokey and very filling. Their pork dumplings was okay, but the wrapper was quite thick. The Hakaw was well made and they've used a whole shrimp. I'm not a fan of their Gokong soup, but the wife loves it. Overall it was a very satisfying experience, plus you can buy Eng Bee Tin products, which is very convenient.

We dine in here for meryenda around 5pm today. Rate for food 3/5 (miki bijon, oyster cake, braised beef, siopao asado, bottled naicha). All are ordinary in taste for its price. They dont have a dinner plate just a small one, oblong pa, that I would say not convenient to use. Our food served one after the other, few minutes in between each. The place is clean pero mainit. Sana may wash area sa baba, need to go sa 2nd floor pa, though may stairs and elevator naman. 4 cars can park sa harap ng restaurant, not sure kung may iba pa silang available parking space. Cash and Gcash payment available, no...

incompetent staff, poor customer service cashier saying "busy kami", "mag-isa lang ako" and made me wait more than 1 hour and 3 phone calls and several viber messages just to tell me they cannot prepare my order because gcash is not working and i have to go there myself and pay and wait for them to start preparing the food AFTER PAYMENT. First staff i spoke with acknowledged the order but went home without endorsing it. Supervisor is the worst, did more talking than listening and just made excuses without solving the problem. She even said why am i angry? Im staying away...
