We were there last week. In all fairness the location of the place is great and the food was also good. However, the service was terrible. Prior entering the resort/restaurant, you need to pass by the receptionist and secure your seats. We were initially told that a club cushion were available, so we went inside, only to be stopped by the bouncer. Mind you, they have NO RESERVATIONS POLICY. So we did not mind it and continued on for the experience. Only to find out, as we were checking out the place, that there were MULTIPLE PACKAGE/SEATS still available. I thought there were no RESERVATIONS allowed? Second, the turn-around time for the food is great. However, as soon as you finish your food, they would immediately ask you if it is okay to clean your table. Like they are asking you “when can you leave”. Like you paid for the entrance for the whole night and expect it to be a great experience, only it to be ruined by the servers acting like they want you to leave. Worse is we were glad we could speak their language because the servers near us were eyeing us and mouthing “mu order pa kaya ni sila. Kanus-a man ni sila mulakaw” To translate, “will these people still order, when will they leave”. After experiencing that we were heavily disappointed and wanted to leave. Mind you, we ordered far pricier food than those other people who ordered only pizzas and pastas but we were treated horribly. Lastly, as business owner, you need to comply with the business regulations. However, they issued an UNREGISTERED POINT OF SALE MACHINE RECEIPT. All in all, it has been a disappointing experience.

It is a place built on the promise of luxurious and exclusive experience. While RUNIK was okay, it was not up to level of the hype it gets. The entry fee is high (Php 800 with Php 500 as consumable on food and drinks) but they were pretty much transparent on that so anyone with plans to go there will be prepared enough. Just don't expect for your consumable to fill your stomach or quench your thirst for drinks, because the offering on the menu is expensive, and portions are small. Still, the food was quite good. The steak, the pizza and the sushi was really great. The exception was the linguine ala vongole where the clams were not really fresh. For a place that is based on exclusivity, the service is somewhat slow. It takes great effort to call the attention of the staff. At some point, you also feel that a single staff was so busy catering to the needs of multiple clients. Understably, it happens. However, it is the duty of the establishment to provide the best possible service to its clients. If you want your stay in the bar to be "sulit" enough, make sure you are in good company. Aside from sitting, taking photos, swimming, enjoying the jacuzzi, eating and drinking, there is nothing much. I believe this place is best when it comes to being with great people to enjoy in conversations, talking about everything. Ultimately, RUNIK offers something unique from other establishments in Siquijor. However, I don't think they are fully in the place where they claim to be. The experience wasn't something memorable and I really wouldn't put an effort to go back. Not sulit.

Paid for a cabana here which was lovely and came with 2,000 pesos redeemable on food and drink. Beach club itself is beautiful and the pool area was really nice. However, we had such a disappointing time. You are paying a premium for food and drink so naturally you’d expect a premium experience. We had far from that. 1: 350 pesos for a ‘Quesadilla’ which came freezing cold - we sent it back, it was a flat tortilla with a tiny bit of cheese on - nothing like a quesadilla (see the pic). When my girlfriend took the cold food up to the bar, the bar man said ‘what do you want me to do about it? Very rude. 2: 40 minutes minimum wait for drinks. On two occasions my girlfriend’s drink arrived 20 mins before mine… yet we ordered at the same time? 3: Whisky Sour served in a wine glass with a straw? A large can of tonic poured into a Hendricks gin (this is is 550 peso btw)? You would expect anyone working in this industry to know that this is wrong… 4. We had to go up to the bar and chase every drink we ordered. Also not once were we asked by the waiters if we wanted anything. Funnily enough, when we raised these issues with the staff, we were told that we had a ‘designated waiter’ - this was news to us. It feels like so much effort has been put it to make this place look like a premium beach club, but it doesn’t feel like one, as the food, drinks and service are very sub par. You are paying just shy of European prices and it was the worst experience we had on the island. We are not a picky couple either.

Our stay at Runik was ok, however it was made much better due to the great service from Rexton, Mick, Pancho, Roy, Phil, and Joreme being an amazing an attentive team, they made us feel at home with their warm personalities and great food and drinks. The sunsets are unreal so I would go for an evening to eat and drink and enjoy what Mother Nature has best to offer but I would stay elsewhere 🌅

We stayed in a glamping tent for 3 nights, and for the premium price we paid this did not live up to what we expected. We expected more from Runik for the very high price we paid per night. Though the tent is nice with 4 single beds inside, aircon, fans and mini fridge, I would say comfortably it fits 2 adults (3 or 4 would be a squeeze). From the day we checked in we were the only people staying at the establishment until our last night. What disappointed us was the cleanliness, the shared bathrooms were not cleaned properly from when we arrived to when we left. I work in the hospitality industry and whenever there are new people arriving we ensure everything is replenished and cleaned. On arrival we used the bathrooms, there was marks in every toilet, dirty toilet seats where we couldn’t feel we could sit down and use the toilet properly. There were dead insects on every shelf and in every corner, one cubicle had bird poo all over the floor and we didn’t use that cubicle for the whole time as it was never cleared. By the second day we had to take toilet roll from other bathrooms as these were not replenished. Just the general housekeeping was not ok for the price paid. There was no offer to tidy our tents either and like I said for the price they are charging these are the small things we would’ve expected. These small issues added up and frustrated us and I know it doesn’t take much to be solved however for the 4 days we were there nothing changed just more dead bugs on every surface and wet dirty toilet seats, no replenishment of toilet roll and just the general cleanliness was not worth the money in our eyes. We couldn’t understand stand it as we were the only people there. It was just disappointing when there are SO many lovely guesthouses and little rooms dotted around the island for a quarter of the price and much better standards, I wouldn’t stay here again. Also, on our last morning there was a drilling sound coming from the main area at 6am, it felt thoughtless as we are sleeping in tents with no real walls we can hear everything, we were woken by this very loud noise that got louder and louder.

Like I said the team and service was great in the restaurant and bar just the general housekeeping needs to be MUCH better if you are going to continue to charge that price, the standards need to be upped and the price needs...

Absolutely 💯 one of the highlights of my month long sojourn in the Phillipines. I traveled through over 10 airports, visited over 18 Islands 🏝 and stayed at more than 16 hotels. Runik is just an absolute hidden gem. Of course I rented the Sunset Villa and yes it rents at a standard American Price but for what you get I thinks it's more than worth it. (Hopefully they dont go crazy with it and keep it reasonable) I was the first to rent this Villa but you feel like the king of the castle 🏰 over looking the rest of the property with its glamping tents and amazing view of the sunset! (Hence the Name) I had to stay for at least 2 nights as I had my own private upper deck and jacuzzi, a stone shower with a sun window 🪟 to filter in all the rays and its own beautiful ceramic tub for 2. Although I was traveling solo this Villa is made for 2 with his and hers accouterments throughout, including your own private bar and prestocked fridge. The beautiful Alexa who was the property manager at the time and now I believe handling their marketing was so accommodating & cordial as she met me at my room to accompany me on a private tour of the property and further enhanced the royal treatment experience. One of the best spots I have ever stayed for the price, but certainly 👌🏽 the beat spot I stayed in the Phillipines. I know they are still doing some expansion and renovations to this locale, so Im excited to see what that looks like when I return, but I just hope 🙏🏼 it doesn't ultimately become an over run tourist spot like the Coco Grove Beach resort next door. Keep in mind this IS an Adults only club, so it's not for kids and families but if you are looking for a spot to treat your significant other for their birthday or whatever other special holiday, I say book in advance and ask for the Sunset Villa, if even for a night 🌙 on the gorgeous but quaint island of Siquijor, you won't regret it! Cheers...

We came to eat here at the end of our trip because we heard it's so amazing or what. I've never written a review but after my subpar experience here I just wanted write this.

First of all if you want to eat here you'd have to pay for the entrance fee, which includes special seating. If you don't want any special seating, there's the general entrance fee which is lower.

When you arrive at the area you'd have to navigate through a narrow road that fits only one vehicle lol. Not something I was expecting for some fancy club.

We just paid for the general access fee and they seated us at the bar. I don't know why, they do have restaurant seats

The place looks okay, great view of the sea and that's about the only good things I could think of the place.

Their menu comes in a form of a QR code lol. I get that 99% have smart phones but that is so silly. They did not proactively offer wifi for us to connect, so we can access their silly menu. I did ask if they had any physical menus but said they were outdated.

Food is overpriced. I'm aware of the overpriced food but I was think maybe there's something that could justify the price, so I went with ordering the strip loin steak, the seafood pizza, truffle cream pasta, and and Ebi roll sushi. They tasted great but the portions are too SMALL, who gets full after eating this??? Even their sides are overpriced lol. There's nothing in there that justifies the food prices.

Now I eat fast so chances are I get hiccups often. I asked the person at the bar for service water and he says it's only offered at the restaurant. Great service lol. Why not find a way to get me service water.

All in all I spent about 4k pesos for some subpar posh club. Feels pretentious really. Most hotels and restaurants would offer better experiences and you won't have to spend 4k....
