The Coffee Academics Greenhills — Restaurant in San Juan

I used to frequent their Makati branch before it closed. I heard that the management is different, I just didnt think that the quality would be wayyy different too.

I went here for breakfast. The Academics Breakfast was unavailable so I ordered the Bacon Bowl. Literally Bacsilog for P480. It was so mid, my 10 yr old niece could make a better meal. I know breakfast is hard to rate in restaurants because essentially it is food that is easy to prepare and not much fanfare. But to be able to stand out, I think breakfast outside your home should have a come on. I mean, what’s the point of eating out when you’re going to eat something that can easily be done (maybe even better) at home? That’s how serving breakfast in restaurants should be, in my opinion. It should stand out. This one felt like eating a meal that shouldn’t cost you P480. Breakfast from fast food joints could do it way better.

I’m not sure with the other menu items, but do not get this one. In fact run away from it.

Their long black is also mid. Other coffee shops do it way better.

I’m just really disappointed ☹️

Ordered several drinks for take away, and asked for sugar to be mixed when drinks were made. Barista / cashier looked very unhappy with work. Took take away bag and was only able to taste the coffee after I left. Realised they didn't put sugar in it. Went back and asked Barista about the sugar. He said he wasn't able to put it since they have a "standard". Apparently the standard is just to nod when a customer asks for sugar, ignores the request, and just reply that they have a standard. A poor and pissy one at that. Owner / management seriously needs to think about staff attitude and service as this has been my experience 4/5 times I visited. Sad that the brand which was known for its service in other countries, poorly perform in the Philippines.

UPDATE: When you order a flat white, you’d sometimes get either a Latte, a Cappuccino, or Coffee...

The coffee is good but my god, every time I come here it takes 15 minutes or more for a single coffee. Today was the worst. There was only one barista and the boss was behind the bar but instead of him helping and making sure his customers get their drinks in a timely manner, he was just yapping and yapping away, flexing his business and trying to impress people.
