A Symphony of Freshness: Our gastronomic journey at Tomo Japanese Dining began with a serendipitous revelation – the arrival of a fresh bounty of air-flown seafood from the captivating shores of Japan. A promise of pristine flavors awaited our eager palates.

The Pinnacle of Recommendation: Guided by the seasoned wisdom of our waiter, we embarked on a sensational rendezvous with the Hokkaido Scallops. These succulent marvels graced our table in a trinity of preparations – sashimi, grilled, and baked with cheese. The sashimi incarnation emerged as the indisputable star, an ode to the sea's light, fresh, and sweet symphony. A mere brush of wasabi elevated the experience to an unparalleled crescendo.

The Wagyu Waltz: Our culinary sojourn continued with the Wagyu Steak, a revelation that transcended the boundaries of conventional steak experiences. An "OMG-so-good" manifestation, the wagyu melted upon contact with the palate, unveiling layers of richness and tenderness. A symphony of flavors awaited, though a humble wish lingered – a subtler hand with the sauce to allow the true essence of the wagyu to shine.

Culinary Choreography: While several other dishes graced our table, the Hokkaido Scallops and Wagyu Steak emerged as the culinary luminaries, casting a captivating spell on our taste buds. The attentive waitstaff, orchestrators of our culinary journey, seamlessly fulfilled our special requests, adding an extra layer of delight.

The Price of Culinary Grandeur: The regal experience at Tomo Japanese Dining is undoubtedly accompanied by a princely expenditure. The price tag, a testament to the quality and craftsmanship woven into each dish, might give pause, yet the overall journey is one that lingers in the realm of...

Tomo is a place we frequently went to for their reliable service, but for this particular instance of their service it was really poor. We arrived at their cafe-entrance knoweledgable that we had our father who was bound to his cane joining us. However, regardless of this visible impairment, they conveniently asked him to move through out their 3 dining areas at different elevations until they could finalize our table (at the 2nd place we came to).

The crowd was composed of mostly families, however there were clearly tables empty. However, it took several attempts to call service for things like water and utensils.

Food items were delivered staggered in such a way that someone's food came when 2 or 3 people would have already finished eating.

Having a shellfish allergy I opted for the Chirashi Bowl however substituting the shirmp informing them that I was allergic to the shimp. Unfortunately, maybe in my fault of not being clear with the shellfish allergy and was only specifying the shirmp, I was served Uni in the bowl , which prompted us to order additional salmon sashimi since I gave the Uni and the Salmon sashimi it touched away to someone else. They never served the salmon sashimi.

Heads-up for those with shellfish allergy: I was served a miso soup that came with my Chirashi bowl. Typically not an issue, but maybe as a lack of my clarity on the shellfish allergy, I was served miso soup with clam. SO THIER MISO SOUP HAS CLAM. I must've missed it in their menu. Left me with stomach problems on the way home.

Food was very good. Service was meh to bad. I guess they were just busy but they gave us a wrong order and when we had half way eaten it already, they explained na mali pala yung nabigay sa amin and they brought the right order. The waiter just kind of looked at us with the dish in hand so medyo, napilitan na lang kami to add it to our bill.

They also tried to serve us two of our orders when we were already served them.

While we were still eating and talking the waiter started clearing our table and took our rice kahit the bowl was still half filled, didn't even ask if we were done or wanted to take it out. I had to stop him from taking away my dessert plate too even if halata naman na I was still using it and there was still dessert on the table.

Around the end of our dinner, I gave my friend a gift and medyo tumili siya kasi masaya and one of the waiters very audibly imitated her, and that was kind of rude.

I loved the food but their service could be better.

Also, the restaurant was kind of full when we got there and we used the bathroom after dinner. It wasn't very clean, trashcan was overflowing. You'd expect that at that price point medyo attentive sila to that...

Was looking forward to this place considering the glowing reviews I've heard. Food: we ordered the Tempura Gozen and a Chicken Teriyaki Gozen. Unfortunately, the Chicken Teriyaki was lukewarm when served, with a bland sauce. The tempura on the other hand was average, nothing to write home about. For the price per set meal (700-800), I would've expected a higher level from the main dishes. I compared this to Fukui Omakase which I rate highly, which is similarly priced and the serving portions are similar as well. Without the side dishes, I would've rated this a two for food. But the teriyaki eggplant and miso soup were the saving grace of the entire experience. The eggplant, ironically, had a nice warm temperature, and it's coated teriyaki sauce should've been the one used for the chicken (that I ended up dipping my chicken into its sauce). The miso soup had clams which gave it a full flavor, and it's one of the best miso soups I've tasted in the Metro. The rest of the experience was ok, but again, taste is king and that didn't deliver. Hope you can improve next time we visit!
