Not sure if we caught them on a bad evening, but our experience was terrible right from the get-go.
Upon entering, the tables were semi-clean. You could see bits of food on the floor and on the vacant tables. You still have to request for them to clean it more. After ordering, we were left to wait for our food for over 1 hour (not even exaggerating we actually timed it.) Upon following up several times, (6 times to be exact) they just kept telling us that our food was being plate-prepared, even though it clearly wasn't since our table position allowed us to see their kitchen from the outside.
When the food finally arrived, their signature bulalo tasted funny. We were four in the group, and we all agreed that their bulalo tasted like soap. We inferred that it was maybe due to how they cleaned that particular bowl. We asked for a replacement, but it tasted no different when we received it back. They changed the bowl, but I guess it was too late. The bulalo soup probably already had dishwasher soap mixed up in it. In the end, we decided to just leave the dish uneaten, and asked if we could just take it out.
When we got the bill, which we were very eager to get, we just had a laugh at their 20-25% service charge, (couldn't seem to remember properly, but it was within that range, I think) considering the manner in which we were served that night.
Anyways, if you're looking to eat some good bulalo, this Bulalo Capital restaurant along Tagaytay highway is not at all a place which we would recommend. Shame how they literally call themselves "Bulalo Capital", but there are many more restaurants in Tagaytay that offer way better tasting Bulalo even though it isn't their signature dish.
1/5 stars. Lowkey kainans...
Read moreThe view is great for picture taking, you can see the entire taal volcano if you seat near the window area or even outside. Theyre very strict about taking pictures, you should order and show the receipt with a minimum order of 400php to take pictures for free. The restaurant was nice because we seat near the window but the staff didnt entertain us for longer time we search for our own table and waited for them again to clean the table and remove the left over food and plates from previous customers, it took for them longer before they entertain us. I heard they are short staff but i see they choose which customer they entertain maybe only 1 staff entertain us there. Then after they took our order, it took longer than maybe 30mins to serve our order. The grilled squid we order was little hard to chew. After we request for bill out and ask for our bill maybe it did took 5 staff to ask before they gave to us our bill. The place is nice but most of the staff doesnt know how to deal with customers. I hope they will improve their service there, atleast they should know how to entertain all customers and not picky with it, that you should chase them to entertain you. This was the worst service i had from all the restaurants...
