While RSM - La Terrazza has a beautiful view and trendy ambience, the food doesn’t quite match the hype, especially for the price. For those on a budget, this might not be the best option, but if you’re up for a splurge with decent food, the experience could be worth it.

Location and Parking Tagaytay's heavy traffic is something you'll have to endure before reaching this restaurant, and while the place has a large parking area, it can get crowded due to its popularity. It's best to arrive early to secure a spot!
Ambience and Service The ambience is decent—open-air with some artificial flower and grass decorations. The vibe is nice, but it could be improved with music, maybe some soft jazz to suit the environment. The staff was generally accommodating, though the receptionist could have been more energetic. Expect a 45-minute wait if you're coming during peak hours, as we were the 17th party in line!
Food Quality and Prices While the food was served hot, the overall experience felt overpriced. The standout for us was the Bagoong Fried Rice, which was flavorful and worth the price. However, the other dishes, like the Kare-Kare, Lechon Sisig, and Sinigang na Sugpo, were just average and not exceptional for the steep prices. For nearly 19,000 pesos, we expected a more remarkable dining experience. The price tag is not budget-friendly, especially considering the flavor was just average.
Restroom Conditions The exterior of the restroom was clean, but the male toilet smelled unpleasant. This is something the restaurant needs to maintain regularly, as it can turn off guests.
Other Notes The place is pet-friendly, and surprisingly, smoking is allowed inside. They don’t accept reservations, so it's strictly walk-in. While they do have promotions for birthday celebrants, there’s no senior citizen or PWD accessibility (no ramps). Payment options include cash, GCash, and credit cards, but it’s safer to bring cash in case of technical issues with...
Read moreWe came to this restaurant to celebrate my mom’s birthday. You’d think letting the staff know in advance would be enough, right? I told the waiter while placing our order that it was my mom birthday celebration. Simple request: no need for a full birthday production, just a greeting plate or a small gesture to make my mom feel special.
Food came, everything was okay. Before we finished eating, I reminded my husband to follow up,this time with a different waiter. That one tells us they don’t sing for birthdays (fine, not everyone’s a performer), but they could give a plate with a greeting. Sounds simple enough.
But guess what? We waited. And waited. And waited some more. Still no plate. I even talked to another staff member. Nothing. We finished eating, asked for the bill—still nothing. My mom, the celebrant, had already stepped outside when!!surprise!—they finally showed up with the plate that was apparently so hard to prepare.
There were barely any other customers. Waiters were visibly just standing around or glued to their phones, so they clearly weren’t too busy to write a short “Happy Birthday” on a plate. Our total bill was over ₱5,000 so clearly we weren’t just there for water and rice.
I brought this up with the manager, Mr. Pedi. His response? “We’ll investigate.” Very helpful. Really made up for the complete lack of effort earlier (spoiler: it didn’t).
Honestly, it’s amazing how many people I had to talk to just for something that takes less than 2 minutes to do. If your restaurant can’t handle a basic birthday greeting, especially when informed ahead of time, then don’t even pretend to offer it. Just say “No” from the start and spare your guests the false hope.
If you’re planning to celebrate something special here, prepare to be disappointed orrrr better yet, just celebrate somewhere else. This is us so u guys...
Read moreI chose to spend my birthday here with my partner because of TikTok.
We ordered the Binusog na Pusit with rice and a Rib Eye Steak, however our meal was delayed and mistakenly delivered, with an additional order of Rib Eye steak added in. Interestingly, the next table of 15 received their order first, despite the fact that we placed our order first. Also, the meat arrived cold. We requested calamansi and sili, which a waiter acknowledged but then forgot about, so we asked another waiter, but the same thing happened. The establishment appears to favor larger groups while neglecting smaller ones.
While the ambiance provides a pleasant view, the large amount of artificial plants, particularly fake grass, detracts from the vibe. It's worth noting that nearby Balay Dako offers the same view, but with better food and service. Furthermore, despite the restaurant's large staff, many were busy singing Happy Birthday or attending to larger parties, leaving smaller tables unattended.
It's ironic considering it was also my birthday, which I believe the receptionist (who isn't particularly friendly) forgot. It isn't a big deal for me but it's worth sharing. Looking back, relying on TikTok reviews was a mistake, as they sound to be sponsored content rather than genuine experiences after rewatching. Overall, I regret choosing this place for my celebration and would advise others to avoid doing the same.
I don't often leave negative reviews, but our experience was so bad that I did not tip a restaurant for the first time in my life. I felt horrible about it, but I do not believe they deserve any.
PS They are offering discounts for BPI credit cardholders but when we went there, I was told they only...
