We went to RSM Lutong Bahay on a Saturday night at 7 PM without a reservation for 15 people. We waited for a few minutes, as they fixed a table for us, and were lead inside. As we entered, this venue is huge, a whole upstairs, downstairs and outdoors area. It’s a big house. They have a buffet, a shop for treats, bibingka stall… The decoration and interior design is really pretty, resembling a tropical garden getaway. Mind you, there is still sooooo much seating inside. We settled in the outdoor patio area in front of a great live band, as they sang popular songs. There was even a segment where the lead singer would go around the venue with a karaoke tablet and interact with the guests in a fun way. We got a few laughs from that. They also sang Happy Birthday to the people that were there, so that was nice. There is also an elongated viewpoint where you can probably see the city and nature, but as it was night, it was just dark. But the wind was a welcome reprieve. Their food was good from pork belly barbecue, calamares, squash and kare-kare, and we used banana leaves as plates. They all came in HUGE serving plates and all at once with a not so bad wait. The tiny fried crabs were kind of a miss, as personally for me it was freaky, and also pretty salty. But the real star my friends, is the freaking Bulalo. It was THE standout of our visit to Tagaytay. It would remain warm in a hot pot as it encompassed huge tender beef, some bone marrow, crunchy cabbage and a very soothing beef broth with constant soup refills. It was the absolute best - not at all greasy or with any afterwards grossities. Just healing, I had like 5 servings. We spent a total of P7000. If you’re in Tagaytay, I definitely recommend...
Read moreThere was a line when we got there, I forgot the time. If you'll dine in, ask for a reservation and you will be called at the waiting area outside.
There was a minor problem when being reserved, we almost got cut by a few customers because the man that was assisting the woman making reservations, forgot to tell her that we reserved for 4 persons. But when my brother asked the man, he dealt it right away cause my brother is famished and he was irritated. Lol.
But it was taken care of, so as we went inside, the woman that was in the reservation list, assisted us to be seated and she was very nice. We were at the upper floor at the left side and the view is also great, but the best view was outside.
The waiter was also good and nice, as you're waiting for your order, water and iced tea were given.
It's a bit long, waiting for your cooked food but it's okay, perfectly natural. So if you wish to sleep, sleep in your car and it's okay, just tell them that you have others waiting at the car.
The food is awesome, I like the most is the beef tapa, so soft and delicious. Their iced tea is like an awesome Nestea so it's really refreshing.
Senior discount is given but I forgot how much was discounted.
There's a restroom, it's alright but not that great.
There's a smoking or vaping area at the far left end where I got the picture overlooking Taal Lake.
Face mask and shield is required as well. It's not that crowded inside because social distancing is good. But you're seated together if you're family and friends.
There is no music but it's okay. The total price were a bit pricey but it's okay because they have a great service and view....
Read moreWe went here for lunch and for the view. After everyone was done with their food, one by one got up and went around to take photos. While i stayed in our table waiting for my credit card. The waiter didn't return and I did totally forget about my card. Oh yes we left and then traveled back to Manila late afternoon. Three days later my fam were in a restaurant in Manila and when I reached to my wallet to pay, i noticed that i do not have my credit card. I remembered RSM "the last place i used the card". I called the place and they said they don't have my card. So i checked my online banking and to my disgust RSM is been charging my card "not 1, not 2, not 3 times a day" but 4 to 5x a day ranging from P3500 to P12000 per transaction for a total of 3 days Dec 26, 27, 28. I did notify my bank and disputed all the charges so no worries on my part. I am an honest person so i literally went back to the place on the 29th and notified the owner/ with police involve to investigate and get this person "thief" fired. Turned out there are few of them in this facility. Thanks to the management/ owner for the cooperation and hoping that this won't happen again to other guest in your restaurant.
I am giving 1 star for the terrible experience i had with this place. As for the management "very...
