Gerry's Grill - BQ Mall Bohol — Restaurant in Tagbilaran

Frustrating! We went today, 1 April 2025, with my son at around 11 am. We were seated at the far left glassed corner. Only 2 tables were occupied: far right and far left tables. We were the third table. I helped myself with the menu and was ready to order afterward, but nobody was there to take our orders. The waiter & waitress were serving at that time, so I waited. I just let the waitress & waiter knew we were there. Another two groups arrived, and their orders were taken. When the tables beside us were done ordering, I thought that the waitress would take our orders. But she didn't come back for us and I felt disrespected. When I looked for her, she repositioned herself where it was difficult to see her, near the entrance door and a building post was blocking her. I was then angry and hungry at the same time that I said to my son that we would get out. I passed the bar and said to the waiter there that we arrived first, but nobody took our orders, instead accommodated those who arrived later from us. I kept my cool but almost 🤯💥.

We ended at the BQ food court. Ordered directly what we wanted and served fast by the waiters who take our queuing numbers and served the dish for us at the table. The waiters knew us and that we would give tips after eating. Less expenses, more food and services were great!

June 2,2017 8:20 pm Food here is actually pretty good the reason for me to keep coming back but this is my last. I'm giving them a 1 star review because of my very bad experience plus staff didn't handle us correctly. I got served with a sizzling kangkong with a LONG STRAND of hair. We discretely called the waiter in the name of Jade and showed him the piece of hair beautifully hidden. With no questions asked, he took my plate away and came back a minute later and asked me if we want it replaced. But of course I said. Together with the plate he took was also the serving of rice on my plate. I asked him if he could replace the rice he just took away as I hasn't started my meal yet. He then walked off and came back with the same plate where the strand of hair was mixed with the kangkong and rice except the piece of hair is not there any longer. I got a little irritated and told him: "Are you seriously serving that plate to me again?!" Then he said: " I thought you wanted "the" rice" That's when I decide I will write a review. I then told him; yes, I want my rice because you took my plate with the whole serving of rice on it, so I want a replacement!

He came back with a serving of rice.

What irritates me even more is that they didn't apologize. Not a "Oh, I'm sorry with that strand of hair, miss etc etc" nothing! Just their blank space. Never coming...

What makes the experience even better is the excellent service. The staff are well-trained and consistently warm and welcoming. A special shoutout to Lito, who often takes care of us when we dine. He’s incredibly attentive, polite, and always seems to know what we need even before we ask whether it's a toothpick or an extra napkin. The rest of the team shares the same hospitable vibe, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.
