Piccolo — Restaurant in Tagbilaran

While Good Cup in Cebu is my all time favourite cafe, Piccolo is a close second. It’s a small cafe unassumingly located in the Alex Avenue Building near ACE Hospital, right beside a laundry shop. When I first visited I had to double check if there's really something there, haha.

The croissants here are on another level. I’ve had my share around the country, and these easily sit at the top of the list. Flaky layers that shatter just right, buttery all the way through. However, do make sure they actually have some in stock/baked when you arrive. My first visit they didn't have the almond croissant available which was a bummer.

The shop is quite hard to find, as there isn't any signage. But once you see it you'll know that it's the one. Nice modern building with a few small tables to sit. I ordered a Cortado and it was decent. The banoffe croissant was 10/10 and I'd go back just for one of them! No real chat from the baristas which is unfortunate, and no choice of beans to choose from either....

Best place for croissants bar none. I have been to a lot of cafe here and they do the best. Their menu is small and that’s a good thing as the 5 items are all made to a high quality.
