The House of Lechon — Restaurant in Tagbilaran

I was excited to taste the house of Lechon finally. I’ve heard reviews, but I still wanted to try it just in case I can turn over their thoughts. I went here with my family on my first day in Bohol. We ordered their 1kg (2) Lechon, baked scallops, pinakbet, calderetang kanding, grilled pork, nothing, pansit bami oreo and mango float.

Baked scallops- I loved it. Although there was lots of butter, it was great for me.

Grilled pork- was fine, but there was a different kind of stench.

Calderetang Kanding- was soft and scrummy! Loved it. It wasn’t hard to chew on, and it was spot on.

Ngohiong and Bam-i - both were great! I miss eating ngohiong, and it didn’t disappoint my mouth. Although the size was small for the usual ngohiong that I can remember.

The dessert was lovely. Missed the taste of mangos.

Lechon- was disappointed with it. It was dry, the taste was bland, and even the sauce as well. I was expecting it to be the same lechon we get to eat during fiestas and occasions, but it wasn’t like that at all.

The cashier asked me how the food was, and I was honest about the Lechon.

The staff who served us was attentive and also very patient with us.

I’m hoping you can improve the taste of the Lechon to live up...

•Ngohiong Crispy spring rolls filled with a mix of ground pork, shrimp, and spices. Dip them in vinegar for an extra kick.

•Bohol Cheese Sticks These cheese sticks are addictive! Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside—perfect for cheese lovers.

•Tour Skin Craving something crunchy? Try their tour skin—fried pork skin that’s light and addictive. The staff at The House of Lechon is accommodating, and the atmosphere is cool. They offer whole lechon for small 7k, medium 9k, and large sizes 11k. We ordered lechon twice here already. They can cater rush orders - ex. Went there lunch to order for tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. They have enough parking spaces in front and at the back. Delicious meals! Ordered scallops, sinigang, kangkong, and chopsuey. Nice interior design as well! They have outdoor seating too. They accept cash & cards like Maya. The staff are also so accommodating. Highly recommended! Will definitely come again. A must to try in the city. 👌
