Kawiarnia Mielnik — Restaurant in Gdansk

We used to visit Mielnik regularly for breakfast about two years ago, as we lived nearby. Since then, we have been visiting this café less and less often. The food is still good, but the service is confusing: It turned out that there is a new way to place an order. We spent around 10-15 min until we realised that and noticed the sign on the table indicating that orders should be placed at the bar. It would be helpful if staff communicate this new rules for guests. We were served sliced white bread instead of the usual wheat-rye rolls. When we asked the waitress if it was possible to have the rolls, she replied that they were not available. However, we noticed that both before and after us, other guests received the rolls as usual. When we kindly asked again, pointing to the neighbouring table that had just been served rolls, the waitress said she wasn’t sure if they had any and would check, which felt confusing. In a moment she brought rolls. Later on, the same waitress brought our order to the neighbouring table, returned, took the plates back saying they were not for them, and in a moment, another waitress brought the same dishes...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Kawiarnia Mielnik, and I must say, the experience left a delightful impression. The breakfast I enjoyed was not only delicious but also showcased a unique concept that I truly appreciated. The open kitchen added an element of transparency and excitement to the dining experience, and having a Bäckers conveniently located within the restaurant, where patrons could pick up their goodies, was a brilliant touch.

The food itself was undeniably flavorful, and I savored each bite. However, I couldn't help but feel that there's potential for even greater taste refinement. While the dishes were already enjoyable, I believe there's room for enhancement that could take the culinary offerings to a whole new level. It's clear that the foundation is strong, and with a bit of fine-tuning, Kawiarnia Mielnik could truly become a culinary gem that leaves an indelible mark on...

Bywałam w Kawiarni Mielnik regularnie od jej powstania w Garnizonie, ale w ostatnich miesiącach dzieje się coraz gorzej. Podwyżkę cen rozumiem, takie czasy, ale przy jednoczesnym zmniejszaniu porcji dań? Zmniejszono liczbę pieczywa podawanego do dań, zmniejszono nawet miseczki, w których podawane są pasty - przed zmianę menu bo obecnie pasty juz nie są dostępne.

Śniadania zawsze były ok., poprawne. Nie były może specjalnie wysublimowane, ale po prostu smaczne z dobra relacja ceny do oferowanego produktu. Obecnie mam wrażenie, że toczy się walka gdzie i na czym jeszcze oszczędzić. Tak wyglądają tosty na słodko, które otrzymałam kilka dni temu, dla porównania zdjęcie z zeszłego roku… Nie wiem czy dodatkowo to komentować. Te same osoby sprzątają stoliki, wydają dania, a w międzyczasie kroją owoce na te nieszczęsne tosty, rękoma bez żadnych rękawiczek (z kuchni wychodzą tylko tosty, reszta przygotowywana jest przy barze).

Przy tylko rosnącej konkurencji w tej okolicy, naprawdę zaskakujące podejście.

Bardzo dziękuję za odpowiedź na opinię. W takim razie pozostaje cieszyć się, że to wszystko przede wszystkim dla dobra gości...

Zwrócę tylko uwagę, jeżeli mamy być drobiazgowi, że konfiturę do tostów podawaliście państwo również w poprzedniej wersji, jest nawet na zdjęciu. Zaś do śniadań wytrawnych podawaliście państwo do tej pory trzy bułki, obecnie jak wskazaliście dwie, ale rozumiem, że cena śniadań wytrawnych również zostanie docelowo obniżona zgodnie ze wskazaną polityką działania.
