Chata z Zalipia — Restaurant in Katowice

Absolutely awful! We were visiting Katowice for the weekend and planned to eat there for lunch when we arrived on Saturday. We were met with a piece of paper on the front door and hen we went in, we were told the whole restaurant was reserved and it was not possible to get a table. We were very disappointed it decided to come back before leaving on Sunday. We went back and asked for a table and were told by one very rude waitress, “There’s no places.” And she just walked off. We decided to wait and hope that someone with some manners and common courtesy would help us. We asked another waitress and she told us all the table were booked. So we asked when a table would be available and she said “who knows?” And walked off.

Unless you want to experience authentic Rudeness and horrendous customer service, save yourself som time and visit ANY other restaurant in the city.

I definitely recommend you to visit the restaurant and taste the traditional polish cuisine. We loved the atmosphere and the service. Beautiful interior, music and plates. Rosół soup and pierogi are great! We had the mixed pierogi and could try all the tastes. However, I don't recommend the potato pancakes – they were so greasy that you can't feel the taste of the food, only oil. It was a big disappointment. The raspberry sernik in the menu doesn't have raspberry, but cherry jam. Although, it wasn't so bad and the presentation was nice. A very polish style restaurant. Servers don’t speak English but are friendly. They have an English menu so you just need to point to what you want on the menu. They serve a buffet of their ‘salad’ bar for 9zlty. The pieroghi are very nice with a good potato mix. Local beef goulash are the best. If you don’t mind salt go for the fried potato pancake.
