I came to visit poznan for my wife. We live in United States and very exciting for this restaurant. I looked at the review in Michelin guide and we decided to go this restaurant for our trip.
Firstly I like to mention about Hospitality of restaurant. Guy who was in front (not know his name) kind of bad attitude and not professional service. I was struggling open the Main door and he looked at me inside “is he dumb? Why he can not open door”. I own 2 restaurants in the state and if any guest was struggling open the door my service team or I will support my guest. start of this restaurant journey was terrible. However Our server lady with glasses was very friendly tho. She explained wine very friendly and detailed. However, I had keep issues with this guy server all night. We left 80% of foods and he took our plate without any questions. And we had couple conversations about restaurants in poznan. And I kind of told him I’m very surprised your restaurant got nominated “Bibb gourmet” in Michelin guide. And he looked at me and laugh then disappeared with my check. I have more things about this guy but I’m going to talk about foods next
We ordered quite lots of food for 2 ppl. App was kind of ok compare to other Bibb gourmet restaurants I visited in Poland. My foie was burnt and set of foie dish was blend. Scallop was so blend with pure and other garnish. Prawn was also nothing impressed.
For entree, we ordered turbot, trout, pork. Turbot sauce was terrible. It was just beurre blanc sauce with big CHUNK of capers in it. Sauce doesn’t have any seasoning and any acid. Pork dish was ok. They cooked pork very unevenly and pepper and bean set was Iike normal bistro restaurant. Trout dish was worst. Looks like they put lots of effort in plating but can you guys please taste all the components before making menu. It was blend leek puree and some potatoes and broccolini.
Maybe my standard of food is too high for this restaurant but if they give us great hospitality I could just finish all the foods. That guy server took our food and he did not comment or question anything about how was our experience. If you are visiting from other countries just be aware, this is not gonna make your mind blow away. And hopefully that guy server can treat everyone same. I spent $240 USD tonight’s experience. Maybe it’s not high price for someone but some guest can come here for celebrating special day. I’m still disappointed about hospitality to way back home. Hopefully something can change after they read...
Read moreA sad night. For Michelin rating team.
This is the worst Michelin star 2023, 2024 restaurant in the world in my humble opinion. This is my first one star review on a restaurant where I spent hundreds of dollars for a meal posted in the picture. The recommended steak special supposed to be medium rare and it came on a plate with no presentation and the edges were chewy and completely well well done. The thin steak is said to be a ribeye but sure taste like a fillet with lots of fiber and tendon. The taste of the steak is like it was just came out from a fryer. The fries sure were fried in dirty oil to give that darker color. Look at the salad! It looks as if it was borrowed from a local bar restaurant next door! The service was not up to par for a Michelin star restaurant. Felt like dinning in a coffee shop… the photos on the wine bottles displayed looking at you was not pleasant. Complained and the chef came back with an answer through the waitress that it was a ribeye stake and it is normal to taste like that… Wow! A disaster experience to be reckoned with. However, credits to sommelier. Nice guy. The architect owner should really take some action to improve this. The Michelin team should really REPENT for their review and their action to give the Michelin sign to this restaurant. Shame on you. Come on, please look at the steak for yourself!!! This is definitely not what anyone would have expected. This steak looks more like a work from a five year old kid.
A sad night awaits. For the next patron. For the...
Read moreWe had great expectations to visit this place. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. The food was uneven quality and the service was absolutely disastrous. The first course we ordered was decent ; foie gras and blood sausage were definitely worth it. What followed was a disaster; servers nowhere to be found. I think the entire staff was hiding in the kitchen and having dinner/staff meal, I went around the restaurant four times and couldn't find a single employee. I helped myself to the coat room to get the jacket because it was very cold inside. Our server and his supervisor were condescending when we suggested the chicken served was undercooked (red meat in the middle) and teastless. The beef cheek was overcooked and oversalted. The wineservice was terrible. The server tried to talk me out from ordering a glass of wine .....because he did not have a bottle opened. The pour was very skimpy - like tasting pour in the US - no more than 3 oz. When I brought it to the server's attention he was annoyed, condescending and said the restaurant policy is to pour 125 ml (4.2 oz). Then he came back and poured a bit more but wrong wine to the wrong glasses (both Greek whites). Definitely not worth the money spent!
Uneven quality food and...
