I recently had the pleasure of visiting Pub Lolek, which exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The pub's commitment to providing a memorable experience was evident in every aspect of my visit. Their knowledge of the menu and drinks was impressive, and they were more than happy to recommend the perfect pairing for my meal. To top it all off, the food and beverages at Pub Lolek were simply outstanding. Having booked a table, we arrived to find that no reservation had been made and we had to sit in about the only part of the pub that we didn't want to, hence why we reserved. No apology was forthcoming, in fact, we got the distinct impression that we were essentially blamed for even thi King that a reservation could be made.

Having gone to order our food at the bar, I was then handed one of those awful buzzers that you get in seedy places like kebab restaurants. Not entirely impressed that the staff can come running when they see that your glass is empty, take it away from you table but not ask if you would like another.

Things then went from bad to worse. Going to get the food from the grill starts to really show the grime beneath it all. Having watched one of the cooks drop their tongs on the stone, dirty, outdoor floor and then place my food on a plate with it, I refused to take the food and told him that I wanted a fresh one cooked. He responded that it would take at least an hour as he was too busy, and promptly walked away.

I picked up my wife's food and proceeded to go to the sides section, where, of course, you serve yourself. Unfortunately, so do the flies. It was literally like the sides had been put on just for them. Disgusting and how the local health and safety inspector does not shut the place down, I will never know.

At this point I asked for the manager, waited for almost 20 minutes so asked again, this time being told that the manager did not have time to speak to us, so I refused to pay the bill and got up to leave. I was told that, if I did not pay my bill, the police would be called. I did not bother explaining that we hadn't eaten anything and left anyway. Maybe they called the police, maybe they didn't. If they did, I hope they brought along a health inspector and some fly spray.

Disgraceful "service", disgraceful "standards" and a disgraceful attitude.

Lolek is the diamond epitome of Polish culture. Here you have groups celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, nights out and just about anyone who misses Polish Weddings with their dancing and excessive drinking. On a Saturday night the band will start with people already geared up to get their moves out and from their it descends into an absolute chaos. You've got drunk cougars swing dancing in all their glory, polish grandfathers deep in the cups embracing their limited dance moves, fathers concerned that their families are having too much fun and the classic grandmother who sits and croons herself irritated that the world moves on and isn't paying attention to her misery. And all the while the bar moves quickly, the beer is cold, the food is filling and if you look to the beat and crowd, you'll never be alone.

The music never stops either, as the band finishes its sets the sound gets cranked the ensure everyone's feet are moving and inhibitions are disappearing.
