Fantastic selection of very regional dishes traditionally associated with this very region of Warsaw's Praga Północ. Very well referenced history to former Bazar located just next door, where the street food selection was including Flaki (tripe soup) and Pyzy (regional dumplings with different type of fillings with a dough made partially from potatoes). All fishes were served in a pre portioned glass jars and stored ready to serve by the vendors in insulated boxes to keep hot without using any heat source at the place if serving. Vendors were shouting "Flaki, pyzy gorące!" (Hot tripe soup! Hot dumplings!" To let the usually very busy and very crowded marked know they are ready to serve. In this very tradition, the owner of this restaurant put a modern spin on a classic dishes making absolutely charming atmosphere taking their customers for a nostalgic trip in time to comunitic Poland. Dishes are very delicious, hard to pick a favorite. Must try at least once. Impressive selection of modernized classics in...
Read moreI asked what meat was in the pyzy, she said beef. Neat, I ordered the meat pyzy with liver berry topping.
I opened up the pyza, the meat was white as snow. Why lie to me? Just say pork or chicken or whatever you used. This isn't even a case of screwing over foreigners, I'm Polish and speak it. Note that the menu itself doesn't mention beef, the waitress/employee verbally told me.
In addition, the pyzy dough was too hard; they used too much flour. The meat itself was bland and poorly seasoned.
In contrast, the topping I took (liver with berries) was very good. The beet soup was also very good and well seasoned.
This restaurant is highly rated so maybe my experience was an outlier, but the experience was highly disappointing and insulting. You think I don't know the difference between beef and pork? You're...
Read moreI LOVE THIS PLACE!!
Great Pyzy! For you non-Polish people, Pyzy is a traditional Polish dish which is ball made from potato dough that can be filled with meat (z miesem). This place is one of the best!
You can choose from all different types of toppings! My favorite is the Pyzy with meat and topped with Turkey and Mushrooms. It’s so delicious. The turkey is roasted and soft, flakey drenched in gravel with mushrooms. The Zurek (soup) is delicious and packed with delicious polish meats.
The service is fast, charming and friendly. The woman at the counter is always kind to me and she always smiles when I order in Polish, but she does speak English! Stop by and try for yourself! Great place to take guests from...
