Avoid Sphinx at Plac Bankowy at all cost, manager there is rude and unpleasant person with zero customer service skill on top of not knowing own restaurants phone number!
Entire story start with me finding nice deal on Aperitif, promotion was for limited stock so as sensible person I decided to call provided number in app and on Google to ask if it's still available specifically in Plac Bankowy in Warsaw.
Gentelmen answered introducing himself as Sphinx staff and assured me that promotion is still on going and reviewed location have a lot of stock. I asked if in 2h they still would have enough as that was time a I planed to visit place, I got assurance that for sure they will have it.
Once in restaurant I been informed by waitress only after taking order that they run out of stock, once situation was explained he offered us apology and asked if we want to talk to manager, I accepted proposition.
After minute or two "Manager" appeared, stating that he is manager, no name, no surnames just title (small thing but unpleasant), I explained in detail situation at what only answer I got was "out of stock".
I explained again that I called and was assured this situation won't take place, showing phone number I called which even in smart call show Sphinx, "Manager" told me this isn't they number. Really? Not your number? Who pick up the call then? Why they said they are Sphinx employee? Why they lied to me for no reason?
I asked what can be done since I used promotional coupon and it won't be available for another hour, response was "I can call another restaurant" excuse me? You want me travel around warsaw in middle of covid 19 pandemics to god know where hoping they haven't sell out stock and with how competent people picking up phone are I don't hold hope.
While I told "Manager" that I'm not interested and this situation is unacceptable he chuckled mockingly saying that "he can't provide me something he don't have on stock", my response was that waitress should check up first with kitchen to see if limited stock is still here. Response I got was "Manager" rolling his eyes on me. Is that the standard Sphinx have for menagment? Pathetic. After that I left restaurant and for sure I will not visit this place again.
I would like to point out only apology I got was from waitress, so thank you for that you have much more common culture than your boss.
TDLR: Called place to ensure limited deal is on was told it is, at place turn out it wasen't. Manager rolled his eyes on me, done mocking chuckle and made stupid remark did not even say sorry....

We ordered the Tomahawk expecting a decent meal since this is supposed to be a steakhouse and is one of the priciest on the menu. The sides were good but everything lack salt. The steak taste like absolutely nothing (no salt no anything in it) and it was extreme chewy. It was a challenge to finish it. Wouldn’t come back and for sure wouldn’t recommend.
Place is nice. And the food looked good at first

Read moreSphinx is basically Poland’s answer to TGI Fridays, loud and casual. The menu is a greatest-hits collection of everything that can be served with fries — steaks, burgers, kebabs, and the house favorite “shoarma,. Service is friendly and the décor could best be described as “TGIF Egyptian-themed after a few drinks.”
It’s not fine dining, but it’s comfort food with no surprises. Ideal when you’re hungry, not picky, and want something fast, filling, and vaguely international. In short, the Polish cousin of TGI Fridays, just with more...
