Balaia Golf Village Clubhouse — Restaurant in Albufeira

Not serious about allergies. I told the waitress I havea dairy allergy, she didn't seem to understand so I said no butter, no cheese. She then smiled and said yes. My sandwich came with cheese. I explained to another waitress I have a dairy allergy. I said again No butter no cheese. My sandwich was brought back with the cheese picked off it. I'm sure if my allergy was severe I would have problems. But it seemed as though English was limited for all waitress staff so I decided not to try to explain and risk it this time. We thought since it was a resort we wouldn't have an issue trying to explain my allergy here. But as it turns out every other restaurant we have been to on our holiday dealt with the allergy much better. Very average food (soggy fries a feature on all plates), but ok prices. Took ages for our sandwiches to come. Which is surprising because that's pretty much all they serve. Scratching my head at the 4.5...

We went to the restaurant 2 hrs before dinner time to make a reservation and we were told there was no need. As we arrived at 8pm, we were told by the same person we might not be able to have dinner as we had not a full board stay at the hotel. We ordered six dishes for 4 people and after 30 mins only 2 vegetable soups were served. We had to wait another 45 minutes before the other dishes arrived.We did not dare ordering desert as we were afraid of having to wait a long time to get it. Food was reasonably good. Kindly enough, they gave us a 10% discount due to the delay...

Le Club is great for informal dining for those who reside on the upper part of Balaia Golf Village, as well as for family members of visitors who come to golf on the 9 hole course. There is a selection of snack meals and salads together with more substantial fare and pizzas. Be aware that this is not fast food and you may have to wait a while in the relaxing setting for your meal to arrive. The staff are very helpful and polite, even when faced by 'boisterous'...
