We arrived around 20:00 Friday night 25th Aug 23, with no booking. A very nice and friendly young woman brought one of the two free tables. The eating area was indoors but all windows open giving it plenty of ventilation and feeling outdoors. The was plenty of choices for the starters and main courses for the 4 of us. We all different starters, all fabulous! Warning on the garlic bread starter, it's huge! Cocktails were excellent, house white wS lovely and Stella for beer. Staff were very nice, prompt with responses and constantly cleaned their hands when exiting the kitchen. The place is spotless! Four mains were delicious. Pizza, bologna and salmon pasta. Unable to finish pizza's due to sharing of the huge garlic bread. Brought them home. Total bill: 4 starters. 4 mains, 7 cocktails, 2 glasses of wine, 3 beers. €169. Includes €1 for the box to bring home the fantastic Pizza's for Saturday lunch. Didn't get desserts as we had no room. Outstanding value and service. Eating there on Sunday for our last meal before going home. Highly...
Read moreThe food was incredibly tasty and cooked to perfection with absolutely no issues at all. Steak sirloin very flavoured and high quality, Portuguese potatoes wow!, sautéed vegetables were a nice combination with the steak also.
The four cheese pizza ordered for my partner was just incredible and better than the ones we had in italy!
There was a wait of around 15 minutes on arrival however this was a fantastic opportunity to have some drinks ordered whilst we waited for my name to be called to seat.
The staff were friendly and attentive and even asked how the food was and if we wanted dessert which we did. The chocolate cake was just amazing! Again, wow!!. The pana cotta with jam could've been set a little more which thicker cream however it was very tasty and enjoyable.
I highly recommend this place as everything was perfect including the atmosphere. It's no doubt why this place is busy and thriving right now!
Update- the food was so good that we visited again, this time opting for the Lasagne, Carbonara and a Pina Colada. Very very tasty! ...
Read moreWhile searching for a 21:00 meal we heard a very jolly sound coming down the street from Portobello. After a quick glace at the menu outside which was everything you could expect from an italian restaurant (primi, secunduni, everything) we entered and were quickly directed to our table. Which wasn't surprising as we noticed later that the owner has hired a small army of serving staff. Not only are there many they also seem to have a talent for languages (as well as charm). Detecting some dutch inflections in my english and helping by switching to dutch was a fun surprise. I didn't get much chance to practice any Portuguese here.
As we only had pizza and desert we can't truly judge the kitchen but assuming everything is as good as our two pizza's there is someone italian running this place with quite some talent. Very tasty!
Nice list of wines per glass or per bottle.
There is some music playing which caters for a certain age group, be prepared for a 80's and 90's...
