This place is awesome! We have eaten at a lot of places in four weeks here in Albufeira, but this is in our top two. Even my picky kids liked everything. This is a tapas place, so everything is meant to be shared.
They have the best fries/chips in Albufeira (second place goes to Albufeira Gourmet). The pork cheek with cheese is outstanding, tender and flavorful. You could cut the meat like soft butter. I know it sounds gross, but it is just meat and nothing weird about it. The cheese plate was outstanding, my son devoured his beef sandwich, and my daughter worked her way through various snacks. The grilled shrimp was very tasty and fresh. They served two types of bread, both very good (one corn and one wheat).
The desserts were outstanding. The creme brulee was unique with crushed caramelized sugar, but my wife prefers a more traditional version. I highly recommend saving room for dessert.
Service was outstanding. It is a family restaurant and they are from Porto, so they brought some of their regional flavors with them.
I hope to go back before we leave. If you eat at only one restaurant in Albufeira, you must eat here.

Read moreWe only had 5 days on holiday and had chosen another tapas bar to visit, however we visited a local bar and the owner was telling us how good this place was so managed to squeeze in lunch. This is, I’m told northern Portuguese, which I’d never tried, but had heard about the regional dish Francesinha and had been wanting to try but didn’t expect to find here, so off we went for lunch, it was a super hot day so the waiter seated us indoors as it was cooler. The service was friendly and welcoming, our waiter seemed genuinely happy to chat and recommend dishes but wasn’t pushy at all. We ordered the Francesinha to share, this came with skin on chips, we also ordered some fish croquettes and a salad. The food was amazing, the Francesinha was so tasty with lots of meat and the sauce was soooo moreish. The fish croquettes were very clearly homemade and tasty. I’m so glad we visited and wish we had time to go more hungry to try more food.
Also the pic below is half a Francesinha, they presented us with a dish each.
For the meal plus 2 very nice glasses of wine and a large beer we payed less than 40 euros which...
Read moreFantastic food in tapas sized portions so that you can try a spread of different things. We had the pork cheeks, beautifully tender although we thought the cheese a touch too strong as a pairing, it was still delicious. Chorizo on a clay pig that we got to cook ourselves on the table. Grandmas bachalau balls which was delicious. The star of the show was mushrooms in soy sauce, just fantastic. Bifana in moms secret sauce were thin strips of pork, slow cooked and very tender in a tasty sauce which is best eaten with bread. We also ate a strange sort of sausage that we were not fond of - it was well prepared and tastes good, we were simply not a fan of the texture… others may well love it. Salad was fresh and a good side dish. We ordered two orders of bread to accompany our meal, a large bottle of water, iced tea for me and cola for my husband. We finished with a glass of 10 yr old port. All in all it cost us €60. Good friendly service. We were very happy with our...
