This family run restaurant is very cosy. The atmosphere is warm and the staff very friendly. We were in February for a dinner and we were lucky that we found the restaurant opened. It's not every day opened, especialy extra season. I read lots a good reviews about it so we wanted to give it a try. It was worthy. It's a tapas restaurant and the portions are big. We were 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 baby. We had like 7 or 8 dishes to share and it was plenty for all of us. The food was delicious. Plus a jug of sangria that was very strong. For the baby they squeezed some oranges and for my other kids they went across the street to find some room temperatures cans of juice. They only had from the fridge. Really appreciated the gesture. We had a chorizo plate..so the guy brought from outside a barrel, and set the chorizo on fire in front of us. Then he cut it and put it on the table. The food is delicious and the atmosphere reminded me of a familly dinner at home. The prices are ok, around 13euros for a dish and 2euros for a juice. If you have any preferences for the menu, like if you would like to eat an octopus (it's not on the menu), the chef lady could do it for you if you let her know few days in advance. For those passionate of reading, they also have loads of books in English...
Read moreMy husband and I ate here for dinner during our honeymoon at the Algarve and we couldn’t be happier. Even though we were a half hour late for our reservation and the restaurant was completely full, the owner Patricia was very welcoming and had saved us a table. The entire staff was cheerful and appeared to very much enjoy working at Platinum. Patricia gave a list of recommended tapas to order and we ended up ordering 3 of them: cod fish cakes, tomato with mozzarella and pesto, clams, and brie with crispy onions. Everything was amazingly good. With each dish, we were pleasantly surprised by how well the ingredients worked with one another. Their house wines and sangria are delicious and a great value. I wish we had more time at the Algarve to come back here several times and try the rest of the menu. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone...
Read moreMyself and my boyfriend visited here last night as we had arrived in portugal that morning but didn’t have a reservation, this place is so so lovely, the owner/chef came out and introduced herself and spoke about the sangria which was really good, we were recommended different dishes and they were all so nice although we couldn’t finish as we were full. Atmosphere was pleasant, the chef was happy and would dance and sing in the back which we loved and it’s a family owned restaurant, they really care about the food. The sangria is one of the best I’ve tasted filled with fruit and I had the bruschetta which was delicious. The waiter then offered us a small glass of almond liquor at the end which was a really nice touch and explained the history. Overall really lovely experience we want to come...
