Botanic Garden Terrace — Restaurant in Albufeira

This is my first ever review because I feel like the google reviews are completely false and I wouldn’t like anyone else to waste their hard earned money. The worst food we have ever been served, very strange considering all the good google reviews (which is why I booked it)

We were a family of 9 ordering various different dishes. 95% of it was completely inedible. The food appeared to be all frozen including a chicken breast dish that was a fillet of processed chicken which was absolutely vile. The chicken wings were so dry there was almost no chicken on them to eat, the chicken strips were also so dry with almost no chicken in them that the kids could not eat them. One dish never arrived and the burger arrived with so much toppings the bottom of it was completely soggy (soaked in grease also)

The owner also had a staff meeting at the bar and was reprimanding the staff which I feel was unfair. What I would like to know is why is he purchasing these horrific ingredients/produce in the first place (all frozen and still horrific) and trying to charge people for it. It’s irrelevant the waiting staffs capabilities considering they are not cooking this...

Great food and very friendly service. The interior is warm and welcoming and along with the vibey music it makes for a laidback dinner setting. As it was rather busy when we arrived we had to wait on our drinks at the start of the evening but this issue was quickly adressed by the manager and compensated to our satisfaction.

The Sirloin Steak main courses consisted of quality beef cuts that were grilled to perfection (precisely medium rare as requested) and beautifully presented. The Seafood rice was also very well prepared with plenty of seafood and a sumptuous risotto style rice combination. The attention to detail in the presentation of this dish was immaculate and it reminded us of a mini ‘cataplana’ on a plate.

A special mention to the manager and our waitress who made us feel very welcome and ensured everything ran smoothly during our fun and enjoyable evening. We would definitely recommend having a meal at Garden Terrace and we will be coming...

Diners beware !

Perhaps the only time I’ve walked out of a restaurant without eating. A vile experience.

We had driven 23km to eat there. We were looking forward to it.

Unfortunately, on entering, we were left standing while staff basically ignored us.

It was 18:45 and they only had two tables occupied.

Later, after almost four or five minutes, one male staff member approached us with a slate sign . On it, the words were painted “wait at the door”

My goodness … he didn’t smile (it wasn’t a joke ) , or utter a single word.

He simply shoved the sign in my girlfriend’s face. Holding it about 20cm from her face , Too close for her to be able to read it comfortably.

I was astonished that they considered this to be the “welcome”. That they could treat anyone like this.

We left and won’t ever return. They dont deserve to have a business. I suggest you eat elsewhere, there are...
