Food Liza's Cafe — Restaurant in Albufeira

Ok so where do I start? I could start with the pushy salesman at the front of the restaurant trying to hound you to come in? The toilets are in a sort of very small shopping style complex which is shared by the surrounding businesses, it looks very dodgy, no hand washing facilities, hygiene is very low, when my partner and daughter went intially, upon returning to our table, the waiter seemed to mention that to make sure there was no men hanging around in the toilet area?? Very concerning if I knew this at first I would of left immediately, I then went to check this out to which I saw the very dodgy surroundings. The beer tasted stale. I asked for this to be changed to and it was replaced with a slightly less staler beer. The fish and chips are from the freezer and tasted like it was not properly defrosted, I expected fresh fish considering I'm in Portugal. The pizza tasted terrible. I informed 3 people who worked here that I was very disappointed in the food, to which I got zero empathy. Luckily I informed a group of people who were going to eat here off how terrible it was and they moved on. This is probably the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I paid the bill because I was with my family and did not want to cause a commotion. Please do not eat here.

If I could give zero...

Arrived late at night I was looking forward to a nice steak, I went to this place as the Steak house opposite had closed up for the night, just after 11pm. Staff were pleasant enough to have me seated and I ordered my drink. I perused their menu and could see they offered Steak alone or with sauces at a cost of 4 euros extra. Steak was 14 euros. I ordered it with mushroom cream sauce as a change to being on its own.

To my surprise it came out very quickly, maybe too quickly.

Th steak came with French fries and side salad. The steak looked rather pale with grill lines as if the steak was either blanched in hot water before putting on a hot grill or micro’ed then grilled but either way it looked very pale thankfully had the sauce to cover it up.

First cut into the steak and would not cut through the steak tough veins. Second and third slice didn’t either. Ended up only eating 2/3rds of a very bland tasting steak. Worst Steak I have had for a long time. At least it was warm.

If the restaurant don’t want to serve steak that late of the night, don’t bother taking orders.

The staff didn’t at anytime ask how the food was and what was wrong with the food.

At least the chips and drink was ok. A reluctant 2 stars for this place. Don’t think I’ll be in a hurry...

Genuinely the worst food experience I’ve had in Portugal. Our waiters were creepy, rude and sarcastic during our duration of time spent there. The man who we assume to be the manager, spent a lot of his time winking, waving and leaning over young girls at this restaurant. The toilets are in a shed that has to be opened with keys, that can’t be locked from the inside, the toilets had no seats on them, were dark and smelled or urine. The food was rubbery, bland and mediocre (at best). The simplest dish of chicken nuggets and chips (freezer food might I add) arrived 17 minutes after the rest of the meals. The pizza was inedible, the steak was only decent because of the sauce, and the chicken curry was bland (it takes skill to ruin a simple dish like curry and pizza). Enticed in by a discount that was actually false and a money grab. Over all. Major creepy vibes. Horrible food....
