We were looking for a halal place to eat at and Chutneys appeared however the place was empty when we entered. We were about to leave when the owner then welcomed us warmly and gave us the menu. His service was impeccable and respectful. We asked if he would turn the music off and he did. I imagine the restaurant gets overlooked by more pub grub food, or similar cuisine chain restaurants on main road of the Strip.
The food was immaculate. So flavourful! An inclusive selection of food even for vegetarians/vegans. Less expensive than its competitors. A hidden gem which absolutely deserves business. I say this as a South Asian who has grown up with and made biryanis, meat/chicken/fish curries. Hearty food, with some Bangladeshi classics. After we finished, I spoke to the owner as it was still extremely quiet and he conveyed the struggles the businesses in Albufiera faces as it depends on holiday goers during the peak season to survive the winter months. I really do believe the owners have poured their heart and soul into the place.

Read moreIt's almost a year since we had a gorgeous meal in Chutneys. No other Indian restaurant we've visited back home since then or before (quite a few and good) could compare!! During the 3 weeks spent in Albufeira, Chutneys was the third Indian Restaurant we went to and had the absolutely best and authentic dishes ever😋😋 Unfortunately it was the 2nd last day of our stay :( Service and cleanliness deserve merit, too👍 We are so looking forward to Chutneys - we'll be with you within 3 weeks😉🤩 08.11.22: Our 3 weeks in Albufeira are almost up - Chutneys has been and still is a favourite eating place! Choose anything, whether the mixed Starters, Chicken Tikka, Prawn Masala, Madras Curry, Dhal Makhani, Lamb Shatkora or Biryani - they're all mouth-watering and to die for!! The friendly service is an additional plus point. A pity this place is so hidden behind the blaring places on...
Read moreService is not great at all. Came in at 8.50 and told they are closing at 10 like okay thats plenty of time to serve 3 people?
Chicken kharai I would recommend but the keema was just lamb handi and i wasn't a fan.
I feel as though the service was not great at all. Only us and another table alongside us. We had to go to the front for a table then for the bill. Just came across very rude and this was not the case with the other table. Neither was the place busy so there wasn't an excuse.
The other table alongside us also got sweets and us just got the bill at us and barely any words spoken to us. I just did not...
