After carefully considering reviews from both Mother India and Clay Oven (which has far more reviews), we decided to go for the more basic venue. The place looked clean, the toilets were in order. The host was friendly and children were accommodated well. Poppadoms were served with the usual condiments, but the onions were mixed with too much chilli powder. As I don't believe that chilli powder is necessary to make things spicy as it overpowers the taste of the food, I was worried that chilli powder would be used in our mains as well, but that was luckily not the case. We ordered Goa Fish Curry and Manchurian Chicken with Pilao rice. Both dishes were very nice and quite spicy (no chilli powder used). The taste was good, but had better elsewhere to be honest. The bill was reasonable and the children got a balloon and candy.

i visited Mother India on 3 seperate occasions whilst on holiday in Albufeira from 30th September till my return home on 10th Octiber. i am not a big Indian lover, and only cookin it fromma jar back home but the food here was absolutly amazing. but lets not just talk about the food. the service its self was amazing. the guy who takes you to a table is one of the most sweetest guys ever. always has a smile and always runing around. mother india itself is a very small quaint place. this is a place i would certainly return too.

Good service , Tasty authentic food around Albufeira's central location. SP( Manager) was very helpful and accommodating. This restaurant was suggested to us by a local random Uber delivery guy and we must admit it was one of the most memorable dining experiences so far in around Albufeira . Definitely recommended . Also highly recommended to those who might be interested in Jain , Swaminarayan or Vegetarian dietary preference . Hope to visit agin 👍. Perhaps Interior needs uplifting !

Just ate at this so called mother India restaurant, we're Asian, so know what indian food should taste like. Where do I start? Ordered 2 popadoms, they were stale, no sooner we started to eat, chicken tikka arrived which we requested we wanted as a main with the saag paneer, tikka was cold and disgusting, saag paneer was ok, naan was thick and tasted uncooked. Nearly all the food was left uneaten. When I explained to the waiter that the food was unsatisfactory, he wasn't interested and blamed it on the air conditioning. WHAT A JOKE!!! Customer service very poor, waiters not once asked if food was ok, or if we needed anything else, no customer service skills at all, actually explains why the place was practically empty!! Nothing good about our experience in this so called restaurant, don't rate it at all, had no choice but to give it one star as I couldn't get on the...

Really excellent meal tonight, at this small but really good Indian restaurant. Service was kind, attentive and able to improvise when asked for something out of the ordinary ("doggy bag" for the sangria my wife could not finish). The food was top-notch throughout, from the poppadoms and pickles at the start, to stunning peshwari naan, mushroom rice and two really tasty curries. Highly recommended. Just wish I didn't have to travel from Scotland for the pleasure of eating here--it would be my "go-to" Indian...
