O Costa das Bifanas — Restaurant in Albufeira

We loved this authentic Portuguese restaurant! Though the staff couldn’t speak much English, they were very friendly and still managed to menu our order. There was display set up of the “catch the day”, a selection of tapas. It was quite busy in the hot summer afternoon, and you could tell most of the locals hang out there.

For the food, the beer was firstly cold and crisp and came out quickly. The bifanas were juicy and flavourful, and the best part was the Portuguese mustard!! Everyone at our table was obsessed with it. We came here because the main reviews were good and we decide to try. But its not good at all or we had bad luck. The entrecosto( grilled pork ribs) burnt without any flavor ( usually they have garlic with oliveoil and vinegar) os chocos rijos e queimados ( the grilled cuttlefish salad the same). We didn't ask for anything else because the food wasn't nice. The bifanas we didn't try. The waiters/ service are ok. Make a favor to yourself for portuguese tapas/ petiscos go to 20age tapas e petiscos at the entrance of albufeira ( 10 times better and same price or cheaper). Very good food but an awful table service.

The food was excellent — we ordered octopus, codfish, and pork tapas, all of which were flavorful and served in generous portions.

Unfortunately, the table service left much to be desired. The waitress was unfriendly, appeared unwilling to help, and reacted with visible frustration whenever we placed an order. This significantly affected our overall experience.

We've decided to give it a second chance.

Food still amazing. This time the table service was done by Inês, the most lovely, kind and funny person. She helped us in any way possible and made feel very welcome.

We ordered Choco, Clams and Bifana!!! Everything was amazing!!!
