The restaurant was a tip from a friend and the place looked very nice, the food seemed to be fine too. However, after a couple of hours after dinner me and a friend both turned very sick due to food poisoning. That day, we did not eat other food that might have caused such a reaction (both of us had a sleepless night vomiting) and, therefore, concluded that it should have been a fish and shrimps from the restaurant. Might be wrong guess but very unlikely. We called the restaurant to inform them about the situation but the only response we received was that many other people have eaten the same food that evening. Fair enough but more empathy would...

If your home currency isn’t Euros the machine will try to make you pay their exchange rate which equals a 5% uptick in price. You have to answer two questions to avoid this and the second one is tricky and takes a minute to get right. While I was trying to read the question the server told me which button to press. It was the wrong one and I ended being charged in my home currency with a 5% uptick in price. And he knew because I said I just wanted to pay in Euros. I listened to him because I thought he was trying to help me when I said it looked complicated and I just wanted to pay in Euros. These tactics are what make people lose...

Passable local regional dishes served by a friendly staff. The regional “black pork” fillets in particular were very tender and marinated in a flavorful way. Razor clams, somewhat uneven in selection (some were too large and mature). In the end, for what it is, it’s way overpriced. If it were half the price it would seem legitimate but for 20+ EUR per dish you’d expect much more refinement. This restaurant is the epitome of my larger frustration with generally mediocre and course food preparations in south of Portugal. Almost ready to give up at...

Highly recommended! Traditional cuisine with a good variety of dishes on the menu plus several daily specials — all based on fresh local products. We went for two of the specials, the dogfish and the pork cheeks, both perfectly cooked and full of flavor, you could really taste the slow cooking and they came with a side. They also have a wide selection of homemade desserts — we tried the almond tart, topped with a crunchy layer of caramelized almonds, and it was absolutely wonderful!

An authentic Portuguese restaurant 👌. Octopus 🐙 and sweet potato dish that we ordered was both sourced from the region. It was nice to have a dish grounded in local tradition. We saw local families dining in the restaurant, which is always a good sign. Most importantly, each and every staff was super friendly. I would have gone again, but unfortunately they are closed on Sunday. P.S. heads up their evening dining time starts from 19:00

Lovely! Superlative service in a restaurant dating back at least 400 years. Loved my Golden Bream which was deboned by my wonderful server. She provided me with much history, a great dinner and a great sense of humor. Bruno, manager, was very giving of his time regarding the history of the restaurant and the their desire to continue cookingtraditional dishes..."like mom used to make". A wonderful evening and dinner!
