Headline review: 5 stars for the setting, views and experience. 3 stars for the food.

This restaurant is in one of the loveliest locations you could hope to visit. Right on the water of the River Tagus overlooking Lisbon and the huge 25 April suspension bridge. Furthermore the sun conveniently sets over the bridge so getting there an hour before sunset is amazing as you watch the sun go down.

Sadly, the food does not live up to the setting and, although generous in portion size, is not that sophisticated. My daughters had a huge prawn starter (shrimp on the menu) which was very tasty but expensive at 15 euros. My fried cuttlefish was not nearly as nice. Great rubbery chunks of cuttlefish, albeit in a light batter, with a strange prawn cocktail-like pinkish sauce.

Mains were ok. A nice cod and prawn dish (in the same tasty sauce as the prawn starter) a tuna tataki dish let down by some of the tuna having blood damage in the flesh and a loin of pork dish with mushy mash where the pork was possibly a little under done.

Service was ok and we had a lovely bottle of vinho verde.

I feel bad being harsh about this amazing place but there is another restaurant next door “Ponto Final” with the same views which I will try next time I visit.

To get there you take a cheap ferry from the ferry port next to the Cais do Sodre train station and then a lovely 10 minute walk alongside the river. However coming back in the dark there are little or no lights so either take a torch or charge up your mobile phone battery to use its light as the return journey could be quite perilous...

We had a wonderful experience here. We had the couvert with some extra bread for the tasty pâté and garlic butter that came with it. Tuna tartare to start was excellent. My wife had the teriyaki salmon with sweet potato purée and pak choi and I had the stew with cod, shrimp, peppers, potatoes and pennyroyal. They recognized our orders were taking a while to receive and apologized and delivered another bottle of wine to our table on the house. When our orders arrived, both were only slightly warm. We just ate quickly as we were pretty hungry at this time, plus the dishes were delicious. For dessert we shared the sweet rice with cinnamon. This dish came cold which was fine, it was tasty, we just expected it to be warm as most rice pudding desserts we've had before have been warm. We also had an americano and espresso with dessert. A little challenging getting into the restaurant with the hills and stairs, but that is what you get around Lisbon! The walk is worth it for the view of the sunset behind the bridge over the river! Glad we booked this in advance as people were lined up to get in without reservations. Definitely recommend if you are in the Lisbon...

If you've ever looked for that one perfect spot where you can have a wonderful evening with your loved ones while enjoying great food, a breathtaking view, and excellent service: That's the place! (Trust me, I've traveled a lot). The composition makes this place unique, because they have it all: The view is magnificent, you see the sunset like nowhere else in Lisbon. Food: Perfect! We (party of 7) tried almost every dish they offer and they are all so tasty, fresh made, right on the spot. Portions are reasonably sized. Service: Honestly, the best I ever had in my life. They take care of your company at carefully judged intervals. Not too often, not too little. If you have a desire, you just catch their eye and they will happily assist you, even with special wishes like changing an order, turning down the music a little or organising a cigarette for you. The waiters make sure they understand what you're about. Of course they all speak very fluent English. Costs? Well, absolutely fair. If you're used to high-end Lisbon restaurant prices this one will be on the average to lower side. Reservations strongly...

Servers were very attentive and bewildered that I was trying to rush out of dinner “ what you have time! Enjoy!” But accommodating of our desire to get mains quickly after starters and pack our half eaten food to go. Also during sunset, there are tons of people folks checking in for their reservations - I really appreciated how the staff took note of arrivals so each party would be addressed on the order they arrived. No drama and impressive they were so careful despite the crazy sunset view rush (7-7:30p for the 8:05 sunset) Food was better than expected! I got duck with mushroom risotto - perfectly crispy skin and creamy risotto no complaints. My husband got the tuna and was really happy with his also. Highly recommend taking the ferry over for the wonderful views, service and food! Tip: definitely make reservations online from their website ( I was able to secure 7pm for 2 the day before) and plan your ferry trip accordingly - info all online

The location of the restaurant is amazing with beautiful views over the Tagus river, the bridge, and the beautiful sunset. Another plus, compared to it's more famous neighbour, is that you can make an online reservation (which I would highly recommend). As the restaurant opens at 19.00, the moment most people had made their reservation as well, we had to wait in line shortly while people were assigned to their tables. We visited on a Tuesday when the restaurant next to this one was closed, so I can imagine the area around the restaurant was less crowded then other days, which we really enjoyed! The service we experienced was great, very fast and really nice and friendly staff. We also liked the food a lot! The prices were also fair in our opinion. They are a bit higher than the average prices in Lisbon/Almada, but nothing crazy. It's just what you pay for having dinner with these views... This was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday!
