Wow! What a gem!!

We had an absolutely amazing experience at O Tiago and I’m already sad that I don’t live closer , because this would easily become my go-to spot every single week.

From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed. The atmosphere is laid-back, inviting, and very much what you hope for when dining in a coastal Portuguese town. Whether you speak English or Portuguese, you’ll feel at ease. The owner spoke English very well and made us feel completely comfortable.

Our waiter Gabriel was a gem! Genuine, friendly, and helpful without being overbearing. The new owner was also incredibly attentive and kind, checking in with us to make sure everything was just right. It’s clear they’re putting heart into this place.

The food? Outstanding! Cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. There’s a great variety on the menu, but two dishes deserve a special shoutout:

The grilled octopus (polvo grelhado) is HIGHLY recommended! So tender, flavorful, and satisfying. Also, the squid à lagareiro (lulas à lagareiro) a perfect blend of char, garlic, olive oil, and that rustic Portuguese comfort. The bacalhau à brás is also a standout hit. Creamy, salty, full of flavour and definitely worth trying!

It’s rare to find a place that balances quality food, warm hospitality, and atmosphere this well. O Tiago nails it. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make this a priority.

Such an amazing experience - we dined here three times during our one-week stay, it was that good!

From the moment we walked in, we were met with incredible service, mouthwatering food, and the kind of hospitality that instantly makes you feel at home.

We were a diverse and big group of seven, and O Tiago made every one of us feel welcome. The menu offered something for everyone, and each meal left us completely full and satisfied. Gabrielle, our server, was exceptionally friendly and personable — always going above and beyond to make each visit memorable.

This spot is a true hidden gem in Costa da Caparica — and I can genuinely say that, as my grandparents have been coming here for over 40 years. Even with a change in ownership a few years ago, the quality, warmth, and tradition of delicious, comforting meals have been beautifully maintained. The new owners have done a phenomenal job honoring that legacy.

My boyfriend and I came here for Breakfast almost every morning when we were staying in Caparica, very nice and cheap Coffee :) Toasta Mista is really good and also cheap for a big portion! Very nice waiters with a fast service. Also electric outlets inside at the tables so you can charge your devices. Toilets are also very clean.
