I tried it for the first time during my trip to Aveiro last summer 2022. I found this restaurant on the first day and couldn't get a table without a reservation. So I booked table in advance for all the following days.

And I was absolutely in love with the place.

Except for the service, which seems like an exaggeration. Specially when the hostess says that you are quite direct "we offer an experience, not just food" but at the end of the day you feel that people are "doing a favor" to serve you... so this is quite a strange and unpleasant moment.

The ambiance is great, very cozy and at the same time combines home decor and easy elegance.

The food is authentic, served a bit posh, but tastes great!

Highly recommend to try risotto is delicious 🔥

The same beautiful beautiful, but lost the charm. They removed the made-up story about "typical neighbors from Aveiro", which used to give the place a unique charm.

And the portions of the plate became ridiculously small, because the average price of the establishment is higher if compared with other places of the same level in Portugal.

Still nice to visit, but without the excitement...

I only give this restaurant 5 stars because I can’t give it 6. The service is amazing yes you wait a bit at the door but that is because each customer is treated to a personal experience and when you are seated the restaurant its menu and specialties are described to you they take that extra time with you at the start and it is worth waiting for because it elevates the experience. The staff are incredible. The food is presented as if it were featured on the cover of a fine dining magazine. The presentation is only a part though the food itself is nothing less than phenomenal. This is not just a stop for dinner it is a dining experience. Make a reservation or you may have trouble as a restaurant this good will always be full. The risotto is beyond description it is their specialty and they have definitely mastered it. The piglet is amazing and the shrimp starter in a beautiful sauce is a must try. If you only were having a single meal in Aveiro during your stop this is the place to go. If you are in Aveiro don’t miss the chance to dine here it is worth the stop. Thank you for a absolutely...

Aquele que poderia ter sido o almoço perfeito.

A comida - incrível, original e muito saborosa. O ambiente - acolhedor, simpático, mas poderia ser mais confortável (principalmente as cadeiras, algumas são muito incómodas). O serviço…- não acompanha a qualidade da comida, e muito menos faz jus ao restaurante.

Assim que chegámos fomos recebidos por um senhor que, com muito pouca simpatia, nos disse logo que teríamos de esperar (não sabia quanto tempo) e que os pratos demorariam muito a sair, porque se trata de uma cozinha de autor. Enfim, péssima receção por parte do senhor. Em primeiro lugar, porque não é assim que se devem receber os clientes (como se lhes estivéssemos a fazer um favor) e, em segundo lugar, porque eu já tinha ligado no dia anterior a marcar, já sabia que teria de esperar um pouco, e estava disposta a isso. Entretanto, passados 15 min, a nossa mesa já estava pronta (ou seja, o tempo de espera foi totalmente razoável e em nada justificou a receção “calorosa” do senhor). Agora a parte incrível…a comida! A refeição começou com o couvert, mas não um daqueles couverts tradicionais de pão com manteiga a que estamos habituados. Nada disso. O pão fresco e diversificado, os patês originais e muito saborosos e ainda umas algas crocantes e estaladiças que nos surpreenderam! Seguiram-se os pratos principais. Depois do “aviso” inicial do senhor que nos recebeu, estávamos à espera de um longo tempo de espera mas, surpreendentemente, não. Os pratos chegaram assim que terminámos as entradas, ou seja, mais uma vez ficámos sem perceber o motivo de todo aquele “aparato” inicial. Os pratos estavam todos maravilhosos, bem confecionados e com uma apresentação incrível! Destaco, sem dúvida. o bacalhau confit (um género de bacalhau à brás, mas elevado a outro nível). O arroz de peixe e marisco e o risoto de camarão e lima também estavam absolutamente deliciosos. Por fim, nas sobremesas, terminámos com a cereja no topo do bolo. Recomendo o mil folhas de chocolate, amendoim e caramelo salgado. Seguramente umas das melhores sobremesas que já comi. É uma explosão de sabores, uma surpresa deliciosa! A cada colher descobrimos um novo sabor, uma nova textura, um novo elemento…muito, muito bom! As natas do céu também são incríveis, muito diferentes do tradicional, e com uma apresentação de encher o olho! Ou seja, no fim, a maravilhosa refeição que tivemos acabou por “compensar” a atitude inicial completamente inexplicável e infundada com que fomos rececionados. Tanto o tempo de espera para nos sentarmos à mesa, como o tempo de espera pelos pratos principais foram completamente aceitáveis, nada de fora do normal. Se não tivéssemos começado “com o pé esquerdo” (e ainda por cima sem motivo para tal), não teríamos começado a refeição já “condicionados” por aquela atitude, e toda a experiência teria sido absolutamente inacreditável! Apesar deste pequeno precalço, iremos certamente voltar para provar as restantes iguarias deste...
