The honest review based on two years of tasting at this location 2022 vs 2023. Total value 4,5 stars. I tried it for the first time during my trip to Aveiro last summer 2022. I found this restaurant on the first day and couldn't get a table without a reservation. So I booked table in advance for all the following days. And I was absolutely in love with the place. Except for the service, which seems like an exaggeration. Specially when the hostess says that you are quite direct "we offer an experience, not just food" but at the end of the day you feel that people are "doing a favor" to serve you... so this is quite a strange and unpleasant moment. The ambiance is great, very cozy and at the same time combines home decor and easy elegance. The food is authentic, served a bit posh, but tastes great! Highly recommend to try risotto is delicious 🔥 2023 year The same beautiful beautiful, but lost the charm. They removed the made-up story about "typical neighbors from Aveiro", which used to give the place a unique charm. And the portions of the plate became ridiculously small, because the average price of the establishment is higher if compared with other places of the same level in Portugal. Still nice to visit, but without the excitement that had at 2022

I only give this restaurant 5 stars because I can’t give it 6. The service is amazing yes you wait a bit at the door but that is because each customer is treated to a personal experience and when you are seated the restaurant its menu and specialties are described to you they take that extra time with you at the start and it is worth waiting for because it elevates the experience. The staff are incredible. The food is presented as if it were featured on the cover of a fine dining magazine. The presentation is only a part though the food itself is nothing less than phenomenal. This is not just a stop for dinner it is a dining experience. Make a reservation or you may have trouble as a restaurant this good will always be full. The risotto is beyond description it is their specialty and they have definitely mastered it. The piglet is amazing and the shrimp starter in a beautiful sauce is a must try. If you only were having a single meal in Aveiro during your stop this is the place to go. If you are in Aveiro don’t miss the chance to dine here it is worth the stop. Thank you for a absolutely wonderful meal

We went to this place due to wonderful reviews that we found here and not only. Still haven’t learn my lesson that, of course, the reviews are subjective… Nevertheless, I leave one here for the interested ones. My opinion: overrated restaurant with a canteen like athmosphere or similar. The way we were treated by the stuff (not all, but the one that serms to be in charge) is not for the type of restaurant they want to emulate: they left us waiting quite a lot after we told that we had reservation…they forgot to bring the menues to the table and the way that the dishes were chanted when they finally came had nothing personal. It allmade us feel as we were just numbers… And to top it all, the food was … not what I was expecting, but rather regular and the beef came with a lot of parts that needed to be removed: grease and whatnot as you can see in the picture… For me, for sure not an experience to be repeted.

I think this was one of the best meals I've had. I got there at opening as I didn't have a reservation. The staff were lovely and accommodating (I asked to move inside as I was getting a bit chilly) and was happily helped inside. They paired the wine for my meal (at my request). I had a salad with goji "ice cream" that I was told to mix into the salad (with other fresh fruit), and my entree was the octopus and sesame seed crusted scallops that was served with a stew (I'm not sure what was in the stew, but it was amazing). And for dessert, I had the "brownie" which turned out to be more like small, dense pieces of chocolate. It was all incredibly delicious and would highly recommend. One of the hosts would advise people that it will take about an hour to get your entree as meals are prepared as they are ordered. Don't let this deter you - it is well worth the wait!! Go and enjoy an amazing meal!

If you are looking for a new and modern twist on an already amazing gastronomy, this is the place. Walked in having 0 expectations as I had not researched the restaurant previously, but we were immediately greeted by their amazing staff which explained to us the whole concept of the establishment. Given their recommendations, we decided to start with the fish stew. It was amazing, with a kick of spicy, probably one of the best I have eaten in my life, the flavour was all there! We proceeded to eat the cod and the hamburger, which were as well (although nothing surpassed the stew). Unfortunately, as time for us was limited, we ended up not trying the desserts, but that makes an excellent opportunity for the return! Lastly, we ate lunch outside and it was beautiful, I would definitely recommend that option!

The best restaurant I've tried so far. First, the food is amazingly creative and delicious. Fresh fish, risotto, freshly cooked, that will blow your mind. Since food is freshly made, you should know that it takes a couple minutes more than usual but it's sooo worth the wait! The desserts tasted like heaven. We actually shared everything. Flavors here are just incredible. Located in the lovely and trendy old fish market, they have outdoor seating for warm evenings that make your time here a lovely experience. Our waiter was Paul and he's the sweetest and gives the best recommendations ever. All the crew just offered the best service possible. The experience here is unique, enjoy your time here with friends and you'll create incredible memories. I'll come back anytime!
