The staff or might be owner's daughter, seemed irritated when I asked for the price of the wine bottle. We've been scammed before, so we are very careful when asking for recommendations from restaurant staff. She mentioned that she doesn’t recommend tap water because of the salt content. She seemed to automatically expect us to agree to her wine recommendation and got irritated with our simple questions. She was less friendly compared to how she was initially before we asked.
When you travel often, you frequently encounter bad experiences, and I hope she understands that travelers like us learn to guard and protect ourselves from possible scams. There was nothing wrong with our questions for her to get upset. We didn't even take much time to ask about the price of the wine. Should we just believe her when she says it's cheap? I wasn't feeling well that day, and the ambience didn't feel good.

They delivered food to our table with no explanation at all, and it took so long, with dishes arriving one by one. Are we supposed to eat just potatoes and salad? We had only two orders since we arrived 40 minutes ago, and we spent a total of 61 euros for lunch...
Read moreThe food is mostly average/bad, there are weird things, like I ordered the steak and I was served two slices, of different parts as one was cooked rare and the other half was well done, you could notice it in the cut they weren’t the same steak. The seafood rice was not good, not super bad either, but not what I would expect from the ingredients. We waited like about 1,5h for them to serve each plate, and in between each plate like 20-30min difference. The rice was first to be served and cod was last by more than half an hour, and we weren’t sharing so we...
Read moreA delightful hole-in-the-wall. We were not too hungry. Hence, only ordered soups accompanied by garlic bread and and an appetizer (small fried fish). But we were not frown upon. The fish soup was the best that we’ve had in Aveiro, and perhaps in Portugal. The humble small fried fish was very fresh and umami, which I enjoyed very much with the white wine. Will definitely come back again to try their...
