Tasquinha do Fujacal — Restaurant in Braga

My wife and I had dinner here and were absolutely blown away. I had their bacalhau à braga – the house speciality – and it was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. My wife chose the alheira, which was equally incredible. Everything was authentic, deeply flavorful, and made with love.

The atmosphere is simple and unpretentious, but that’s exactly what makes it so special. You feel like you’re stepping into someone’s home. The service was outstanding – warm, attentive, and genuinely heartfelt. Even the owner came by to check on us and later treated us to a delicious homemade liqueur. We also got to taste their homemade Porto, which was fantastic.

We mentioned we found the place thanks to a recommendation from our friend Anne Faber, who filmed an episode of her food documentary there earlier this year – and we could see why she chose it.

On top of all that, the prices were incredibly reasonable. For this level of quality and hospitality, it’s a steal. Can’t recommend this...

Restaurant serving the locals with a lot of heart and soul. I highly recommend taking a stroll outside of the city centre for this place.

Once you walk in you are greeted with a big smile from the very friendly owner. If you are lucky you might get to try his mystery freezer liqour.

The charming waitress takes good care of you, making you enjoy the atmosphere and feel a home.

The daily menu with 2-3 things to select from is extremely fairly priced, including soup, drinks (I recommed getting the can of wine), salad and coffee, all of which is good. The waitress is happy to talk you through the menu.

If you are looking to sit down with locals and experience an authentic homemade Portuguese food, something that you can eat everyday without getting bored then this hidden gem is a MUST TRY place. For us, it was hands down one of the best places we tried in Braga. Great quality, amazing service at an awesome price. It’s a family owned business and everyone who works here including the owner are very passionate about what they do. Also, they know how to make sure that their customers have a good time!
