Hotel João XXI — Hotel in Braga

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while traveling from Porto to Figuera da Foz. The hotel has a very good location and is in walking distance from a bakery and supermarket. It is only a 10 min walk to the city center of Braga. Another very positive thing is that the hotel offers free parking just in front of the entrance. ||We payed very little for this accommodation and we were aware that this would be like the sing on the hotel says 'low cost'. The rooms were small and did seem nicer on the pictures you can find on the website. There are a minimum of amenities. There was a hairdryer and some soap as towels so the basic things were certainly there. The bed was really the only thing that made our stay here less comfortable. It is not a very good bed and it sounds and feels like you are sleeping on some sort of plastic cover, which is not very nice. Further there were only 2 channels that you could watch on tv. Although we did not come to watch tv it would be nice to have some more channels available. ||It would also be nice if the staff in the hotel had better language skills. This is certainly not the only hotel this is the case but it would be a very positive thing if staff spoke better english for international guests.||To resume a practical, low cost...

We stayed here on our latest family vacation. It wasn't a long stay, but it was pretty comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. The room we stayed in was a Family Room, it had one double bed, one single bed and a baby crib. The room was recently refurbished, so it was nice. For the price we got, it was a real value for money. The room was spatious, the layout was similar to a suite. There's a small entrance area where you have the wardrobe, and you have a door separating the entrance area from the bedroom itself. The only thing were the pillows, they were pretty uncomfortable. It wouldn't hurt them to invest a little bit more on pillows...||||The location of the hotel is very central, you can walk to the historic center. If you're coming in by car, the hotel has some parking spaces reserved in front of the hotel.||||The staff was friendly...

The hotel is terrible! There is no lunch or dinner, the breakfast is terrible, it's the same every day.The rooms are terrible, also narrow and dirty, the bathroom is a square, the door doesn't lock and the squat rack is next to the door, the shower door doesn't close.The cleaners don't clean the rooms well, my pillows and blankets haven't been changed in a week.Half of the buttons on the TV remote don't work, to turn on the air conditioner I have to go down to the ground floor and tell the reception to turn it on, and recently they haven't even turned it on.I recommend you not...
