Upsettingly negative experience. Never again. Staff was unnecessarily rude, bossy and unfriendly to me and my family member. Very unusual in Portugal. After ruined lunch experience, I got out truly upset and in bad mood for rest of the day, to the extend that I bother to write negative review I mean they deserve. I understood being seated outdoors to eat on veranda digital ID covid certificate is not required. I entered without. Staff in restaurant did not ask me for certificate or antigen test at entrance or before I ordered food. They should have. If I was informed it was required just to walk fast pass few meters of counter desk and couple of empty tables to get out to open doors of veranda, I would of course not enter. I am not interested to break rules or have problems. I would not have invited my son to take break from his work to come join me there. When my son arrived, while I was already eating my salad, staff in restaurant told him that he cannot enter even to shortly say “hello I am here, they do not let me in”. Alternatively staff could have offered to come to ask me to come out to meet him. At this point latest they should have told me that also I am not allowed to be on their veranda. We could have left and gone somewhere else, still polite and happily. I am white Finnish women, my adult son is darker tanned brown skinned being ½ New Zealander. We could not help to think that this very different customer treatment possibly had to do with racism. Or whatever it was, not ok. After speaking on phone with my son and hearing how rudely he was treated on door, I hurried to leave, paid and told the staff loud and clear that I do not have covid vax certificate and will never return. I got some rude toned “fine, rules are rules” reply. Pity. I used to go here mainly for great location, for sunny veranda with pretty ocean-waves-beach view, near my home. I found place great during previous owners when it was good local Portuguese food restaurant (abut 2 years ago). We will never go there again while run by Adamastor beer bar people. Besides, as it is run now: Snack-food menu is limited and boring. Nothing much to choose for health conscious. Dessert cakes look attractive, taste so-so. Weird "own special" beers taste so unpleasant that I could not drink them. Sometimes overwhelmingly many drunk people and noisy. Luckily multiple more pleasant better places to...

I really enjoyed being here watching the sea and sitting at a picnic table in the sheltered balcony area. We had beetroot hummus which was ok, olives and lupins and shared a vietnamese pulled pork sandwich. This is what this place is all about. Mostly sandwiches and a couple of salads. The pulled pork sandwich was v good but not much of the Vietnamese tastes that could have really been accentuated. Our waiter João was so so friendly and we had a lovely conversation with him. Actually all the waiters were great and couldn't fault this at all. All in all a great chilled out place with various beers to...

Had a great time tonight at dinner! The sunshine felt great from the balcony of this restaurant that overlooked the ocean! We chose to get more snacks to share instead of going heavy on dinner options. We got the gyozas, shrimp tacos, beef croquettes and we split the caramelized onion burger! Service was awesome and the view made it an even better experience! Highly recommend stopping and grabbing a snack and a cold drink when you’re passing by! There is paid parking on site and we got lucky and found a spot but it seems to be pretty packed with...

Our main reason for visiting Adamastor is for their outdoor seating. We went an hour or two before sunset and enjoyed drinks on their terrace/balcony area. Such a lovely spot, warm sun + sound of the waves + reasonably priced drinks. We parked above in the beach paid parking (even though we didn’t pay since the machine didn’t work oops) and went down a flight of stairs before we got seated (no wait). As the night went on the place started to fill up. We got the prawn tacos - a small plate to share with 3 tacos. Very good.
