Mr Lin — Restaurant in Cascais

I went for dinner a while ago and I can still remember how excellent the food was! Will surely come back at least to pick-up, not sure I would dine in again after last time since service was…bad. That night there were a young waitress and another older waiter on shift: restaurant was half-empty and the waiter took a good two minutes to notice we were there standing waiting for him to us our table. After we took our seat, another good 5 minutes went by while we waited for a menu: he only realized once he came by the table and asked if we were ready to order that never were we given the menus in the first place. Obviously didn’t apologise, just threw a couple of menus on the table and ran off to do something else. We ordered, we asked for a bottle of rosé and that’s when the waitress came to our table to bring us the wine: she forgot the corkscrew and as soon as she tried to go back and pick it up, the waiter grabbed the bottle from her hands and opened it himself, then left the bottle on the table and left again without serving it. He spent the rest of the night calling her names, screaming and shouting she was an incompetent in front of the whole restaurant. Maybe she doesn’t have the same experience as him, maybe she needs training: nevertheless, this behavior on the workplace is incredibly unprofessional, unacceptable and rude. I would suggest to the owner to deeply reconsider allowing this person...

We ate early, 7p.m. Service was great. We had dumplings to start-perfect! Then had beef in wok and crispy duck chow mein. Both were high quality, tender, crispy vegetablesand cooked to perfection. We also ordered fried rice wich was flakey and had a bottle of whire wine and jasmine tea. Total nill was under 34€. Delightful...

Pratos bem confecionados e saborosos, sala agradável e preços muito apelativos. A classificação que atribuímos, deve-se a uma cena lamentável de repreensão pública, de um dos funcionários (possivelmente o chefe de sala), a uma jovem funcionária, a que todos os clientes tiveram de assistir. A cena durou mais de 5 minutos, com gestos descontrolados e gritos intimidatórios por parte do “chefe”, enquanto a jovem funcionária, porventura com menos experiência, mas com muito mais presença de espírito e consideração pelos clientes, se refugiava, muda, atrás do balcão. Desconhecemos a gravidade da questão que levou a tal descontrolo, nem isso interessa; nada justifica a humilhação pública de uma jovem funcionária por um colega mais velho e mais experiente.
