Spoiler alert – This is a dam good sushi joint! We took the couvert which is chunks of spiced salmon over a crispy nori cracker (sorry, Susan, this is definitely finger food). Also, the Sunomono cucumber salad was so good we ordered the larger portion (don’t be put off by the English menu description “dehydrated” cucumbers. It seems to be a classic Kyurimomi rendition where the cucumbers are thinly sliced, salted, drained, and dried between clean towels before saucing.) Our other starters were chicken Goyza - crispy fried! and vegi Tempura which was a mix of vegies with a perfect light tempura batter – the best we have had in Cascais. For mains we had tuna Sashimi – beautiful large pieces of tuna with a light dipping sauce. Followed by the California Roll Uramaki - as good as any we had in Berkeley California where we lived before moving to Cascais. For dessert, we went back to the starter menu for the Hot Fry Special – one of the chef’s fusion offerings. Brilliant! A Uramaki roll wrapped in salmon then fried like tempura. In addition to the simple but cozy ambiance, the attentive and knowledgeable staff, and the brilliant chef, I think their secret is keeping the menu simple focusing on the just classic Sushi dishes with a few special offerings from the chef. If you want Pad Thai go elsewhere. We will be back, often, to sample the rest of the menu! Parking. Well, if you don’t shop at Pingo Doce it takes some getting used to. The entry off Av. Nossa Str. do Rossario is what looks like a wide cobblestone walkway but turns out it is a two-way road. Sharp left into underground parking can be hazardous. The delivery trucks “share” the same route – hopefully you don’t meet any. Hint: go all the way down to the bottom level for ease of entrance and more...

Read morePros are the location, service always ready to help and cozy environment. Sushi is your typical things you would find at your run of the mill sushi place in Portugal all based around salmon or tuna with minor other fish choices such as “white fish”. Nothing really bad here, but certainly nothing over the top or inventive. Choices are quite limited too. A big negative here is if you make any modifications, you will have to pick from any other item on the menu that may resemble close to your order and pay the full price of that. For example, if you only want an avocado cut roll, you need to order something like a California roll, pay that full price and only...
