Ophelia — Restaurant in Cascais

Revisit 2 August 2025: I ordered the waffle with yogurt and red berries with juice of the day. I also asked for an extra waffle with maple syrup. The extra waffle came to my table first and it was great. It had some crispy edges and the syrup was average. Moments later my waffle with yogurt and red berries arrived and the waffle was soft and rubbery. The waffle was served with honey on the side. I personally didn’t care for the honey on a waffle. Overall, I had two different experiences which tells me consistency is a problem.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately neither me nor my wife liked our meals. I ordered the omelette and it was pretty disappointing for my liking. Trying to keep an open mind, Ive never seen or tasted a omelette the way that it’s prepared here. It tasted as if the cheese and egg was cooked together, 🤷🏾‍♂️. I couldn’t see cheese but I could taste it. I’ve included a picture for clarity. The toast was really hard as well. So I couldn’t eat t. Also, the wording is a bit misleading. The description says it’s stuffed with cheese and served with a salad. It also says that you can purchase extra spinach and extra wild mushrooms. I assumed because it says “extra” that there would be spinach and mushrooms and that if you wanted “extra” you would be charged...

Terrible experience from start to finish.

I ordered an iced matcha and a latte both were basically just milk with barely any matcha or coffee flavor. I specifically asked for almond milk and they gave me oat milk instead, without even mentioning it.

The food was just as bad. The avocado toast was hard and dry, the smoked salmon smelled weird and tasted low quality, and the waffle came with an undercooked egg. The pancakes were supposed to be stuffed with cream cheese but there was absolutely nothing inside. Completely bland and misleading.

To top it all off, the staff was unprofessional and cold. No welcome, no smile , they barely acknowledged us.

This place is all style and no substance. Definitely not worth the hype. I’ll never...

This is my favorite cafe in Cascais. there is a lot sunshine light from the huge windows, pleasant music plays, the staff is carefully and sincere. you feel that come to a place where you are truly welcome…it’s a place in the creation of which people invested their souls and hearts, not just effort, money and time. Food is beautiful and tasty: the best poached eggs with salmon and hollandaise sauce; delicious pancakes and waffles with salty and sweet fillings; fantastic croissants and other dishes include healthy food like granola, smoothies and other. I love this cafe and the people who work in it, I recommend it as a regular customer who comes back here...
