A real disappointment... We ordered Mista de Marisco 42€ expecting a variety of seafood. But more than half of the dish was made up of prawns and bread. There were only 5 different types of seafood and no crab, no barnacles. The only shellfish were clams, bamboo clams and some mussels. We wanted to give Essência a try because of its good ratings BUT it was a BIG MISTAKE. The last straw was when we found that the clams were not fresh. We will definitely not recommend this restaurant for its mixed seafood. It is better to just go to a supermarket and buy yourself some bread and precooked prawns. 🥺🥺🥺 The one-star rating is for the serving staff who were responsive and pleasant. Zero rating for the dish.

The food was very good and we liked both dishes and dessert. My boyfriend had the small nail and it was very good the only thing was that the french fries were not real potatoes, they were frozen wedges but they were tasty! I had the the Gilt-head bream, with some greens, it was very tasty. The only thing was that it had too much olive oil We had the house dessert and it was a mix of chocolate Mousse, Oreos and white chocolate, it was very good! The staff is super friendly and the best thing is that it has Ivavoucher!

Com marcação prévia, visitámos pela primeira vez o restaurante. Fomos bem acolhidos, o espaço era confortável e espaçoso. Pedimos robalo do mar para dois que foi servido com batata grelhada e legumes. Os legumes estavam óptimos tendo, por isso, pedido uma dose extra dos mesmos. O peixe era enorme, não foi fácil dar conta do recado. No entanto, percebemos que, apesar de bom e bem confeccionado, não era fresco, o que acaba por ser compreensível. Algumas partes estavam um pouco secas e com sangue, ainda assim considerámos um óptimo custo-benefício. Para beber, optámos por uma sangria branca, boa e fresca. O ambiente era bom e estava bem composto. Nós recomendamos e vamos voltar para experimentar a carne que, do que pudemos constatar por outras mesas, tinha óptimo aspeto.

What a letdown… the ingredients are all very good, one could se that it was good quality meat… but the chef had no idea of what rear, medium or well done mean… not one single person at the table got what they wanted and we ordered from “blue” very under done to medium well…. All came cremated… even the potatoes came cremated… the only redeeming feature was the sautéed “spinach”. Anyway… change the grill chef and you might...
