If you're looking for an amazing meal at a great price you'll love Solar Da Praia! I'm traveling the Camino de Santiago and Fernando has a great pilgrim menu. Even if you're passing through here is worth a stop. The normal menu looks amazing too. We arrived to a busy lunch rush and were quickly seated. Even though the restaurant was hoppin Fernando took time to say hello and ask how we are doing. He's full of great information about the area and what to do. The fish was soooo good! Made me want to order 2 of them for myself. The serving was so big that no way I could have eaten more. Fernando said he and his wife had taken over the restaurant since January 2023. So I suggest if you read any negative reviews before January 2023 ignore them. He's running a top notch restaurant serving high quality delicious food at a very reasonable price. Food was on point as expected for this region. Service however, worst I have ever experienced. We do a lot of restaurants. I believe server was owner, from his arrogance, but failed in so many levels. What a shame… because the food was excellent. Forgot to tell us that what my wife and daughter ordered, they no longer had the meat… so when the rest of us were served, then they realized their error. Original server didn’t have the courage to come tell us himself. Sent someone else. Then we caught the attention of original server again for a 2nd bottle of wine, and that one never showed up again. sometimes along the Camino you encounter little gems and this restaurant is one of them. after a really tough walk i went here and boy was i met with the best of the best in Portugese hospitality! The pilgrim menu was exactly what i needed, the wine was a welcome anaesthetic! The staff were friendly, and really efficient, the fish was so fresh, as were the fried potatoes. the little touches make all the difference and there were plenty here.
