My partner and I ate at Soho Coffee in the departure lounge for breakfast ahead of our return flight to the UK.
As there were only a handful of flights departing that day the lounge was virtually empty, and we were served quite quickly.
I ordered an Americano with my avocado, and my partner a Coke Zero and some pancakes.
But what made this experience so great was not what we ordered, but what some other customers ordered after us.
It was an American group, who were all over the place when ordering. They were over-pronouncing words to the staff as if they were deaf when in actual fact quite a few of them had relatively good English.
One woman said she wanted an Americano coffee, asking âdo you know what that is?â to a man stood below a menu that included such beverage.
âYes, I do. Would you like one?â he said.
âTwoâ she said, holding up two fingers and mouthing it in such a way that was blatantly rude.
âSure thing,â he said.
She returned to the table, only after picking up a couple of bottles of ketchup. And a short time later, their âAmericanoâsâ were ready to pickup.
Instead of being served in the usual way, as mine was, the man making the drinks (not the same man who took the order, a different one), went overboard with whipped cream and sugar on top.
I didnât notice this at first, but my partner did and said the staff were messing with them. They hadnât asked for their drink to be topped off like this, but I didnât think they would do this.
But then another person ordered an Americano, they werenât American, and it was served in the usual way, ie a cup with no whipped cream and sugar sprinkled all over it.
It was hilarious.
Anyway, our food was great. Our drinks were good. The service we received was excellent. And the entertainment...
Read moreHi I have recently departed from faro on the 18th of October 2025 before my flight I got a breakfast roll from soho coffee and not even 20 minutes to being on the flight I was vomiting continuously all over myself etc it wasnât very pleasant. This never happened and I travel up to 2 times a year! I then went home after my flight and was having hot and cold sweats all night through to the next morning. I then udeveloped diarrhoea and it still hasnât stopped 2 weeks later. My doctor has confirmed it is food poisoning. And as I hadnât eaten anything before that for around 12 hours it was most definitely the breakfast roll. Which was heated up with a cooked egg in!! I took the egg out but I was still harmed. The egg should have not been reheated. It was like rubber. I will never be returning to Portugal again because of this case has really me un easy about getting ill whilst there. I really hope some accountability can be taken and maybe also some change made with in the recipe and cooking method since it has made me...
Read moreWe came here just before boarding our flight home having checked out some of the other options nearby. Unfortunately, this was the best of a very bad bunch.
We were absolutely shocked by the prices, which for us ended up at âŹ7 for just 1 pre-packaged wrap (many other places in this area were stating âŹ11 for a sandwich), given that we are able to get a sandwich, drink and snack for just ÂŁ5 total in our home airport.
Two of our group were also vegetarians, and there were just 2 or 3 options available for them, at the same extortionate prices. The drinks selection was also very limited for all members of our group.
The wrap tasted ok, and other members of our group enjoyed their toasties and coffee.
We found the seating area to be large enough for our purposes, but the floor was very dirty and there was a pile of rubbish left by previous diners on the floor.
Overall, I'd suggest you bring a packed lunch if heading to this airport at all, and maybe just grab a coffee from...
