Pizzeria Claudio — Restaurant in Figueira da Foz

Has it’s been written before, pizza dough quality equals the (bad) ones one can buy frozen and ready to eat at the supermarket. Pasta was overcooked and bland. We came to this pizzeria due to the nice reviews and were appalled by the bad quality. In the walls there’s an article that claims that this is one of the few pizzerias in Portugal whose owner is an authentic Italian… if this is still the case and Claudio is still the frontman he should know what I am talking about. It seems that in the past the quality was very good. We stumbled upon Pizzeria Claudio in 2022 when driving from Lisbon up to Aveiro and had a craving for pizza. Had a phenomenal pizza de Bacalhau and a pizza Inglês. We love this little spot. So much so, that we detoured once again this summer when heading down south. Prices are fair, portions are plentiful and the atmosphere is authentic to what you would expect from an Italian restaurant. Staff works hard and gets what you need with a no frills attitude and that's what we appreciate. By far the best pizzas worldwide after traveled trough 89 countries , traveled allover Italy almost 30 times and worked in Italy in several locations ( Milano , Torino and Bologna ) almost 10 times . One of the two only places in Figueira da Foz where after lunch I definitely don't need an afternoon tea since their lunch is more than enough until dinner . Their excellent quality is unchanged since they opened almost 40 years ago . The owner Claudio is Italian from Genova and his father was already on their business .
