If you arrive early on a weekday, say 1830-1900, you will have your choice of seating and the staff's attention as you will likely only be sharing the space with a few other diners. Later, especially if a cruise ship is docked, it fills up. Consider reserving a table.

Our staff was ok to fair with English. They have a great selection of wines. Cocktails may leave something to be desired by lack of, but we found their martinis to be good. If you'd like an olive, in your drink, ask for it that way. It will have a pit too, fyi. That's how they roll here and practically everywhere else we've dined out on Funchal. Now you know.

A good selection of fresh fish, live lobsters/oyster/mussels are available. Like, you can't go wrong here.

My partner has gluten allergies, noted to the staff and may have had a small reaction? Not enough of one to keep us from coming back. This is not a gluten free restaurant, nor does it claim to be, but they certainly try to be accommodating. I would not suggest celiacs dine here.

We visited twice and would happily recommend any of their two person platters judging by the two we immensely enjoyed. Both on each visit were amazing. Beautifully prepared fish and seafood. I suggest you consider ordering one side dish if you get a 2P platter. The sides are good portions, the 2P platters are generous. The warm garlic bread starter is tasty and if you save some, great for sopping up juices. You might have difficulty finishing everything, especially if you order an appetizer. 😋

If you somehow save room for dessert, bless you. Try the cheesecake, pudding or ask your server.

If you are from the States like us, service is different than back home. Be chill. You need only get their attention and you will find everyone here as helpful as...

Very non-welcoming restaurant, especially the owners that are extremely rude people. I used to dine in this restaurant since 2009 (when I moved definitely to Madeira) and brought there a lot of friends and clients. Last time I went there with some friend, where one of them has a dog with a certification valid for entering in any restaurant, bar, pub, etc. After an initial embarrassing, one of the owners allowed us to get in but he called his partner who confronted us minutes later. This guy confronted us saying that the dog cannot be admitted in the restaurant and need to go out. I tried to explain to this man the situation and the presence of a certificate that allowed the entering of the dog everywhere (as per the dogs for blind people). He expulsed us from the restaurant and after my claims he said that if we had more questions to be discussed we had to call the police. Police came to the restaurant and identified this man but, even if the law is against him, he continued to refuse us to get in the restaurant. Very bad people, don't deserve any more attention from me and my...

Excellent, excellent food, service & overall experience! We were directed there by the late night concierge at Four Views (Diogo) & we can't thank him enough. They accommodated us, even though we made it there less than an hour before closing, and we spent the rest of our week comparing other meals to theirs. They really made us feel at home. Dennis (Diniz) suggested a great lineup for our 1st night because we were done making decisions & it was great! He has a wonderful personality (he even dealt respectfully, with a patron who was very insulting in his tone & words). On our next trip back we were helped by Tatiana, she was so nice and patient too and kindly wrapped up our leftovers when we ordered too much food. Everyone at the restaurant were so lovely & I look forward to seeing them again the next time I visit Funchal. The garlic bread, passion fruit drink, meats,...

A restaurant popular with locals had to be tried and we're weren't disappointed. Everything from shellfish to fish to steaks to salads to vegetables was perfect. And of course wines to match. We visited 3 times and each time the food was fresh, tasty and perfectly cooked on the open grill. More than adequate portions served by lovely, friendly staff, attentive but not OTT, inside or out on 1st floor up a few steps. The tiger prawns as part of the seafood platter, a meal in themselves! And prices definitely not excessive for the quality. We will certainly be visiting again the next time in Funchal.
