Local Pub — Restaurant in Funchal

Where do I start. I have never experienced such thorough and generous hospitality in a bar abroad until here. Angelo and Bernadette were most welcoming from the moment we walked into the bar, showing enthusiastic and friendly service from the moment we stepped foot inside this modern and intimate bar. Eli was amazing. He chatted to us every night, suggesting us drinks and nearby restaurants and even went out of his way to bring us for a beer in one of the local bars on his day off. We had an amazing and entirely memorable time every time we stepped foot inside this warm and welcoming bar. I cannot recommend this place enough. Wide range of drinks, cocktails and poncha and the most friendliest staff we have encountered on our travels. Great staff and amazing locals. This is simply a must while in the area. Went here when looking for a proper "pub" to watch football (rather than a restaurant with a TV in the corner as is often the case in the area). This fitted the bill perfectly. The owners are really friendly, as are the staff. The prices are excellent, brilliant value drinks, no doubt about that (so much so that I thought we'd been given the wrong bill initially)!! They're very accommodating and will put the match of your choice on one of the TVs (although I think they only have a couple of TVs in the pub, so it may be a challenge if there's a few big matches on at the same time). Seemed to be a good mix of locals and tourists. if you're looking for a welcoming pub/bar to have a few drinks whilst watching football/sport then look no further....

A really cosy bar & restaurant that serve good food. Bar staff are all very attentive and really friendly. Local Pub is under new management and if feels like customer service is their priority. The pub has lots of small tables and plenty of seating, the seats are surprisingly heavy but I found them comfy.
