Atlantico is beautifully situated on the Vila vita estate (54 ha), the hotel for the rich and famous, such as Anastacia, Fay Ripley, Luis Figo, Sergio Ramos and Max Verstappen. Vila Vitaparc is part of the Leading Hotels Of The World group. The most beautiful restaurant in Vila Vitaparc, with a magical view over the Atlantic Ocean. From the reception you walk through the tropical gardens towards the Atlantic Ocean to reach restaurant Atlantico. Or you take the buggy, which will take you to the entrance of Atlantico. Nice people work at Atlantico who clearly enjoy working. Dear people, like Yolanda, Joao, Hugo, Jimmy, Rafael, and the others! That cheerful, enthusiastic amateurism (in the literal sense of the word: enthusiast), less stiff than at the other 8 restaurants of Vila Vitaparc. It is immediately noticeable that they take hospitality and quality seriously here. You will receive a friendly welcome and from that moment on you will be pampered. In many top stores you are shocked when the bill is brought. That is why we are so happy to eat in a top restaurant again where we feel that the ratio is in balance. Here you can enjoy a nice dinner for a good price. Starters from 4.50 euros, main courses from 21 euros. This is Michelin level food, for the price of an “ordinary” restaurant! Everything is freshly prepared by the kitchen team, and all ingredients are organic and local. This applies to wine, fish and vegetables. What a great concept. Chef Joao Viegas (1988, Faro) used to work for Michelin star restaurants, and now has his own organic-and-local concept here. Atlantico does not yet have a Michelin star, but it will certainly come! In addition to the a la carte options, there is a delicious and complete 7-course tasting menu, for 90 euros. That is a lot cheaper than at the "sister" Ocean, where you pay 255 euros for a tasting menu. The restaurant's decor is stylish and chic, copper and azul. Luxurious, but certainly not boring. And in the background beautiful piano music. But the most beautiful thing is actually the terrace with a view of the Atlantic Ocean and the tropical garden (54 hectares), where you can dine on warm summer evenings... The tasting menu starts with an excellent appetizer: a cookie with seaweed paste, yum. This is followed by 7 delicious dishes, accompanied by a delicious cool wine from Silves. Enjoy an evening! This is a restaurant I enjoy returning to. I'm already looking forward to next time. Highly recommended! opening hours: Saturday to Wednesday:...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining solo at Atlantico, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The attention to detail and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made me feel instantly at ease, even as a solo diner.
The meal began with a prawn brioche that was nothing short of perfection - not only delicious but also visually stunning. Next was a very refreshing cured yellowtail with green gazpacho - each bite was a symphony of flavors and textures. The artichoke, mint, lemon and sunflower seeds dish, presented in three different ways—purée, chips, and a delicate slice—was a true work of art, showcasing the chef’s creativity and skill.
The highlight of the evening, however, was the straight-from-the-sea fish, served with a heavenly brown butter (nuazette) sauce that enhanced the freshness of the fish in a way I’ll never forget. Every dish was beautifully paired with a selection of wines that elevated each course, demonstrating the sommelier’s impeccable taste in pairing food with wine.
To finish, the cherry, almond, and lemon verbena dessert was a masterpiece in itself—a thoughtful arrangement of flavors and textures.
A heartfelt thank you to the chef and entire team at Atlantico for making my evening so memorable. The service was impeccable, and I left with a smile, eager to return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a dining experience that is as thoughtful as it...
