Palmeiras Grill in the Portuguese Algarve is a delightful culinary haven that left me completely satisfied. The restaurant's inviting ambiance and friendly staff instantly set the stage for a memorable dining experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated.

The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly their Chef's Salad, a burst of freshness on the plate. The crisp greens, vibrant vegetables, and perfectly grilled chicken blended harmoniously with the zesty vinaigrette, creating a mouthwatering medley of flavors.

Next up was their signature burger, and it did not disappoint. The patty was succulent and packed with juiciness, while the accompaniments of melted cheese, crisp lettuce, and tangy pickles made every bite an indulgent pleasure.

To complement the meal, we ordered their Sangría, and it was a refreshing delight. The fruity notes and the right balance of sweetness and tanginess perfectly complemented the savory dishes.

The bar seems nice, but we did have a bit of an awkward experience with the service. When my partner and I arrived, we were greeted by a friendly lady with a braid. She asked if we preferred to sit outside or inside, and we chose inside for the air conditioning. She then led us to a table in the middle of the room and pointed it out. Since the space was tight and she was holding a menu, we thought she wanted us to go ahead so she could follow and place the menu on the table.

However, she didn’t follow us, and after waiting a few minutes without anyone attending our table, my partner approached another staff member to ask for a menu. This woman, who had many small blonde braids, responded in a very loud and somewhat abrupt way, saying, “I know! Can you sit?!” While we understand there may have been some language challenges, the tone and volume were a little surprising to us. My partner was a bit taken aback, and I found it a little difficult to stay calm in the moment. I considered leaving, but my partner suggested we stay, thinking perhaps she was having a tough day. After that, she was more polite when bringing us the menu.

The food was good — I particularly enjoyed my white Sangria — though the chips were a bit crunchier, than we expected, tasting more like crisps. My partner said his meal was delicious. Overall, I’m giving 3 stars mainly for the food, but the service was...

My recent visit to this Restaurant left me thoroughly disappointed, primarily due to the behavior of Duffy, the owner.

Despite arriving with high hopes for a pleasant dining experience, our encounter with Duffy quickly turned sour. When we decided to cancel our order for reasons beyond our control, Duffy’s response was shockingly hostile. He not only displayed aggression but also resorted to physically pushing me, escalating the situation unnecessarily.

What’s more disheartening is the unwelcoming atmosphere perpetuated by Duffy’s discriminatory behavior towards foreigners. His bias towards locals was evident and marred what could have been an enjoyable meal for all patrons.
