We had dinner here 2 days ago during our visit in Lagoa before going back to Ponta Delgada (May, 2022).
Cons: The queue time is a bit crazy. I advise you may come here early or make a reservation. It took a little bit longer until your order served on your time. The is a bit pricey for us. We spent €46 for two of us. The dessert of maracujá was not good for us. My chicken wings was a bit too salty. (€5,50 for 8 pieces).
Pros: The staffs are quite nice, helpful, and attentive. She helped us to find a table while we were waiting. The restaurant sells fresh grilled fish and any other Portuguese food. We ordered Lapas as our entrance and it was so tasty (€15) and the quantity was enough for 2. The garlic bread was good (€3,50). The sauce of my chicken wings was tasty too. The grilled fish of my partner was tasty and good. It was half dose and the quantity was enough for him. Free WiFi accessible inside the restaurant. They allow dine-in and take-away but not delivery order. They allow payment in cash or card. Indoor and outdoor seating available. There is a table service. The restroom is free. Entrance accessible for wheelchair. Parking accessible for wheelchair. It is free to park nearby. Not mandatory to wear a mask. Digital menu is accessible with...
Read moreWe ordered two different fish. It is fresh and displayed nicely in a fridge for you to see but that's pretty much all that was good about it.
Mine was parrotfish. It came cut into small pieces, almost butchered, burned and virtually impossible to get off the skin. The other one we had was barracuda - this is better due to being a fillet. Fish comes with a tiny slice of lemon and a bunch of highly overcooked tasteless vegetables.
Staff is very busy and hard to catch their attention. They are nice though.
Our table was dirty with bird poop on it (we sat outside), plates were dirty as well and we had to request new ones.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND: If you want to go, make a reservation. It is very busy. Be VERY CLEAR what you want to order. We just named the fish we wanted and ended up getting half portions. No idea why. Especially since the menu didn't even have the option to order half the parrotfish. You will most likely receive some starter (cheese, bread, etc.) without ordering it. If you even touch it, you WILL be charged for it. If you say you don't want it, it goes to another table.
Overall this is more like a tavern than a fancy restaurant. With fresh but rather mediocre food. For this price we had way better fish in other places. *price shown is for 1/2 portion....
Read more⚠️My experience at this restaurant started with appetizers I did not order but was charged for. Next came the appetizer I did order which was oysters, but to my dismay they were cooked by Rubbermaid. Upon explaining this great injustice to the waiter his insane reply was the larger the oyster the harder they get. Now comes the main course which I was greatly looking forward to devouring a large squid and once again the crude oil came, Rubbermaid has not left the building. For the second time explaining to the waiter that my food has been overcooked, again he used the same metaphore that the larger the squid the harder it is. I simply asked him to box the food so I can dispose of it in thee nearest waste receptical. Consumer beware do not go to this place. A chef in need of...
