Angelo looked after our group of 12 as we descended on their outdoor section but never fear, they had thick plastic drapey things that closed us off from the breeze but still left you to feel that you were (almost) outside.
The menu was wide ranging and generally well priced. I started with their broccoli soup which was thick and creamy and I could easily have eaten a couple of extra bowls and then called it a night, it was delicious.
I followed that with a selection from their pizza menu which had something for everybody. My choice had lots of good stuff but a bit too much rocket for my taste. Nevertheless I did my best to eat all of my pizza but I had to call for help and two of the guys helped me out to leave a clean plate.
My beer was cold just as it should be and my wife enjoyed her meal of pasta with chicken, mushrooms and roasted pine nuts on a nice creamy base of pasta and washed it down with a very good looking Mojito which she refused to let me try - she drank it all so I couldn't even get a taste.
The bill for 12 with lots to eat and PLENTY of wine came in at a respectable 400+€ but the wait staff were very accommodating and allowed some of us to pay by card and some to pay with cash.
The washroom is in the basement but they have an elevator so no problem there.
One of our group lashed out for a lamb shank which looked really good and she gushed over it so it obviously tasted as good as it looked.
Give this place a try, you...
Read moreAlloro, a popular Italian restaurant particularly with families staying in the eastern apartments of Luz, offers a mixed dining experience.
Its high ceilings, while architecturally interesting, contribute to a lively and often noisy atmosphere – a factor that could be a plus or minus depending on your preferences for atmosphere.
The service at Alloro is a definite highlight. Staff are consistently friendly and efficient, orders are taken promptly and delivered without unnecessary delay.
However, the food itself, while perfectly acceptable, leans towards the ordinary. While Alloro serves up familiar Italian dishes, there are certainly other establishments in Luz that offer a more better culinary experience.
On the positive side, Alloro stands out for its very reasonable prices. If value for money is a primary consideration, this restaurant delivers. You can enjoy a good meal without breaking the bank.
In conclusion, Alloro offers friendly service and good value, especially for families, but those seeking exceptional Italian cuisine might want to explore other...
Read moreI arrived at this place for a take away pizza in my surf hoodie and bikini after a beachday. Realising the place looked quite fancy, I was doubting to go in dressed like this. I went in and they were so friendly and made me feel so welcome that it was a real pleasure being there. They made my day in some way with this. They offered me a seat on the lounge chairs of the porch while waiting for my pizza, offered me something to drink, and by the time my drink was there, my pizza was ready already. You can feel they have a good flow with their workers and all of them are really trying to make the clients have a great restaurant experience. The pizza, with a thin crust, was...
