This was my first interaction with a Lagos local. We were excited to come here, took a 4 hour train from Lisbon to Lagos and Ubered straight to the restaurant to try the local piri piri chicken and we arrived 20 min before closing which is obviously our fault, however we decided to try to get a table regardless. When we walked in and asked the lady at behind the counter which appeared to be the manager or owner didn’t think to look us in the eye or even smile while we were bringing all of our luggage in rushing to try their amazing food. She was completely rude and entitled and all she had to say was, “I’m sorry we are closing” and smile. But she rudely said No and didn’t even look at us when we asked if we could get a table. Maybe because we’re American she treated us like that, but if they were in my country coming to try my food right after a long train ride I would be so happy to serve them or even nicely tell them that we are closing and cannot serve. The entitled of older locals just amazes me! However, this one bad experience doesn’t define the entirety of Lagos, as we had many sweet and caring interactions at other restaurants and places...
